Wait, just listened to Aitakute Aitakute and this is not the song I was referring to. Its quite nice actually. I'm not very familiar with her first 2 albums. I was referring to other song but forgot which one.

^well "to LOVE" was probably her most successful period in terms of image and sales. Yet many fans despise it because it was that - mainstream and appealing to the wider mass (and yes, a bit whiny at the time). Still, it remains to be my favourite album.

"LOVE one" is a fun album. She hasn't found her sound yet but I overall enjoy it more than the efforts after to LOVE era. Her first two albums do have spectacular b-sides too.

Ah, I miss that GRIGORIO13 guy - that was her special sound.

Giorgio Cancemi was the reason why I wanted to give Kana a try in the first place. I was completely in love with what he wrote for Mai Kuraki, so when I saw that he wrote songs for Kana I had to listen to her even though I really disliked her image - which now grew on me anyway.

Best friend makes me cry as soon as i think of anyone dear to me while listening to it. I really like it. Aitakute aitakute is like sad but i can jam to it lol I can't listen to LOVE one tho most of the vocal performances on that album are too cringey for me

I was scrolling through old Kana threads and saw that people were much more active back then. Was it the fact that she was kinda the hot new thing in jpop or that people prefer her older stuff?

The song that made me actually like Kana after trying to get into her multiple times was "Just the way you are."

And I think people are just sick of her releasing the same song over and over again for like the past year and a half.

^well I don't think they are the same song. i just found that torisetsu and that last song are just bland. I loved Moshimo though.

Personally, I lost interest in her with Love Place era. Her label tried to conform her too much (especially with the idol style) and her music sounds soulless to me. with LOVE caught my attention again and torisetsu single brought me back to her wholly. I feel that the old Kana is back that girl who has a distinct sound mixing western music and jpop together in an unique way in the japanese music world.

This single sounds nice. I like it.
She already has six songs in this country pop style : 25 - Darling - Moshimo Unmei no Hito ga Iru no Nara - Torisetsu - Anata no Suki na Tokoro - You & Me.
