Utada Hikaru actually did get brief vocal lessons when she was younger. Don't think it helped her much though.

Ain't that the truth. She would either need some serious electronic help in the studio (which I'm sure she already has considering the way she sounds live), or another person entirely to sing her piece.

Good News.

On Japan iTunes, Utada is right back up in the #2 Position on the Albums Chart again right after being bumped down to #3 just a day or 2 ago. Whatever came in and bumped Utada and Madonna down, it's long gone now. I can't even remember what it was. Doesn't seem to be anywhere on the Chart anymore from 1 to 10. Hmmm....Peculiar (Maybe it was a mistake?). Also, Utada is back up in the #2 Position on the Singles Chart as well. Good Stuff. Indeed.

Okay after disliking utada for quite a while, I finally gave HEART STATION a listen, and I must say this is an awesome album, my favorites are Flavor of life <3, HEART STATION, Beautiful World, Take 5, and Kiss & Cry.
Anyone kind enough to give me recommendations based on the songs I've liked so I can check out her previous works?
Oh, I like Passion and Hikari too.

Well when exactly did you stop liking her and thus stopped listening to her?

If you didn't try out ULTRA BLUE, definitely get that. HEART STATION is basically an evolved version of ULTRA BLUE. More refined and matured and the like. Cheers.

If you liked "Kiss & Cry" and "Heart Station", you might like Distance, specifically "Wait & See", "Addicted To You" or "For You". "Beautiful World" and "Teiku 5" remind me a great deal of ULTRA BLUE, and I specifically recommend "Making Love" and "This Is Love". You would also certainly love "First Love" if you are a "Flavor of Life" fan

Thanks for the recommendations! I'll give ULTRA BLUE a shot first, then Distance and First Love. By the way, when you say First Love you mean the song or the album?

Thanks for the recommendations! I heard exodus but I rather dislike it somehow so I guess I'll stay away from it lol

lol

she has some good songs in there although the lyrics are a different thing altogether

I like About You which's practically the only non R&B song & ballad on the album .

Stuff like Hotel Lobby , Animato , Devil Inside , Easy Breezy are great too

I actually find ULTRA BLUE way easier to connect with (or it's just my personal preference =P because I think that UB is way better than HS) with such songs like Passion, This Is Love, Keep Tryin', Be My Last etc.
Winners. HEART STATION has some awesome songs but don't know... this album wasn't "magical" to me as UB. I love it, but UB wins for me.

I think it's possible provided if sales continue to be consistent
