There was no controversy or scandal, this happened back in 2011 I think and they brought
it up like 3 years later. Screw everyone who says otherwise, they just wanted to cover
something up and they threw Park Bom under the bus. Good for her for not sticking with
YG fuck them (idk if she's still with them or not).

rant over.

^well something must have happened, otherwise Minzy wouldn't have left and would be shut-out (she didn't even know of this last song).
Bom left too.
As I said, I think especially Minzy good fed up with wasting her time not doing anything. They easily could have had 3 more albums.

it's confirmed that Minzy left because she only wanted to sing but YG didn't let her. GOODBYE was originally like a letter for Minzy from CL. she wanted her to come back

CL said there might be possibility of reunion if they'd get all four into it (meaning getting Minzy back)

CL says lyrics to 'Goodbye' were meant for Minzy

CL revealed that the lyrics that she wrote to 2NE1's final song "Goodbye" were for Minzy.

In an interview with Ilgan Sports, she revealed, "The song is something that I had written before. After Minzy left YG Entertainment, the three of us were preparing an album. It was a song that was supposed to be like a letter to Minzy. I edited the lyrics so it would be talking to both Minzy and the fans at the same time. It didn't take me long to edit the lyrics because I move fast when someone is believing in me."

Minzy opens up about 2NE1's last song on her Instagram

On January 20 (KST), former 2NE1 maknae Minzy took to her Instagram to open up about 2NE1's last song.

She shared a few old, reminiscent photos of 2NE1, and wrote, "It's a shame that I had to find out 2NE1 will be releasing their final album through a news article. This is very unfortunate as I was previously a member of the group 2NE1, but I share the same feelings as the other members in wanting to show appreciation and bid farewell to everyone for all their love and support of 2NE1. I am truly grateful and sincerely appreciate all the love 2NE1 received and hope for your extended love and support as the members continue on in their individual careers. Thank you."

If it was a letter meant for Minzy, they could've at least told her

all of the 3 girls were still under YG, Minzy wasn't. i'm sure they are not allowed to talk about future releases without YG's permission

Yeah, and wouldn't it be strange, if she'd sing in a song that's also meant to be for her?
Just a thought.
It's a nice song and MV to end everything and the disagreements that most probably happened behind the scenes.

Dont even blame YG to be honest. Blame those haters and netizens who singled Bom out and make everything a fiasco.

from a psychological standpoint, I can see where YG is coming. I mean come on, if Korea is not ready for Bom and her supposed-drug-history (which I know there is none off), do you really think they can go on stage as if everything were fine and receive all the backlash.

The MAMA performance was in fact the REAL ALL-OR-NOTHING moment for 2NE1 but as soon as they got on, while international fans cheered, many korea fans have something else to say. YG was only testing for feedback using a foreign stage. It was brilliant.

You all saying Bom is fine and all that, sure she could be but come on, from the onset of it all, she has so much to bear. Im sure this would have affected her greatly from that point. Yes she may be going about now but come on, do you really think she would say she is suffering to her fans? like Wtf? duh no?

and Minzy, the girl who got NOTHING during this entire hiatus chose to leave. On one hand, you really cant blame her. She's young, has a bright future but to be honest, I dont think it was a good move. She will still, now and forever, be labelled the girl from 2NE1. The girl who left 2NE1 first. When people look at her, they will be reminded of 2NE1. And girl, what are you doing now? Being a coach to other trainees. Is that really her dream? I know she has her own dance school/studio and that was when I was thinking, she has her own plans. Something like Jessica from SNSD except Minzy chose to leave for all these "temptations" (As CL writes).

so all in all, will 2NE1 really survive it all. Honestly, as long as 2NE1's name exists, the hiatus will be on indefinitely. People will be thinking if that "drug taker" will be back on stage. All these connotations will be in people's minds. Yet now, 2NE1 is officially over. I think when they do get back together, whenever that will be, it will be a fresh start and for the better. A part of all these scandals what not will be put aside since that chapter is now closed and I do hope this is all just part of a bigger plan.

2NE1 is now legendary.

T-ara has received MASSIVE backlash and still receives, but there they are, strong, releasing things, and they said in numerous interviews that they never thought about disbanding or else. So, if I think they can go on stage as if everything were fine and receive all the backlash? Yes, they can and since this is Kpop, many groups do it. IU is another perfect example of artist who receive heavy backlash.

Netizens, especially korean ones, are sick, that is true, but saying that YG is to no blame is just ludacris. He didn't offer support to the girls, held them back (Dara said they had a full album ready to be released) and threw Bom under the bus for his own sake too many times.

About Minzy, you're underestimating her. Look at Jessica. Everybody remembers that she was a SNSD member, but nowadays she has released two solo albums, is the owner of a luxury brand and acted in three chinese movies and an international one. You can't just simplify her as only "Jessica of SNSD", just like Minzy will build her own career outside of 2NE1, that could be even greater than what she did in the group, who knows?

And who says what CL says is 100% true? She's the one that gained the most out of 2NE1. Out of the four girls, she's the one who had the most support from YG, who put the group on hold indefinitely just for her "amazing" US debut.

In this whole story, YG is the one who mismanaged the group, created the worst situations for the member, and in the end, he's the one who's milking with that generic farewell song.

I don't know why, but it seems that in Korea the ladies are always more affected when there is an scandal than the guys.

^Isn't that the truth about any famous person though? Female celebrities always have to deal with so much more shit than male celebrities.

2NE1 was disbanded "because of Bom," and her scandal where she used medication that was legal when she was prescribed it, yet 2PM is still standing and going strong years after Nichkhun's drunk driving accident. I absolutely love Nichkhun, so not coming for him, but really female idols get shit on for so many little things, while the men get away with whatever.

I mean come on Sulli can't even post a picture on Instagram without knetz going off about how she's mentally ill, lol. I do feel bad for female idols, but I very much believe that Bom's talent is more important than any scandal ever and she deserves a proper singing career.

Apparently there's rumors that she's releasing a solo album this year? Is she still signed to YG or did she find another label?

Edit: I'ma leave this here 'cause accurate

I'm so happy anytime CL gets any type of positive attention 'cause I def don't think she deserves all the hate she gets

overall the Goodbye still was executed quite poorly. firstly, too much of media play and lies. secondly, the song was supposed to be the goobye to the fans, then the song was taken from CL's solo album and was actually her song, meaning they didn't even try to write a special goodbye song, then they claimed the song was actually a goodbye to Minzy, and after the Minzy announced publicly she didn't know about the song that was actually devoted to her.
what a mess.

in my opinion, they disbanded because of CL ambitions for Amercian market, what is funny though is that now she's back in Korea and no one wants her either there or in the US, to be honest she is quite irrelevant as an artist, still, agree or diagree, this is how I feel and some Korean BJs think so too. the Bom scandal was definately a strain, yet YG managed to cover every BB scandal quite nicely, meaning he wasn't probably as into 2ne1 as into BB, and of course his sexist nature and favouritism destroy everything. he did nothing to improve the situations. also, all girls had different ambitions and couldn't correlate either. Dara wants acting and variety, Bom wants to sing, Minzy wants to perform and CL wants American fame.

at least Bom is okay now. I am not worried about her anymore. in fact, I don't worry about any of them. Bom can live quietly and do whatever, CL has a rich a family to rely on, Minzy has her mother and her good supporting family, and Dara has a lot of fans and will anyway do something more with her career.

^I'm sorry, but half of that was subjective bias talk. You are right, the goodbye was executed poorly, but you never now: maybe the rest of them was forbidden to talk about the song, maybe they aren't as close as they acted to be. As far as I understood, the song was recorded for the album the remaining three put together last summer (that never came to a release) and CL rewrote the lyrics. Maybe the last album was planned as a last album all along, so the song fitted as a goodby e to fans, and now, after rewriting, also caters to Minzy.

As for your talks about CL: By no means I'm the biggest fan on earth of her or the band at all, but as I said before - in a 10 year career they only recorded around 40 songs. CL is the kind of person that wants to do something in public (and I don't think that is a bad thing - every singer wants to be heard) so i can see where her ambitions come from - she is by no means irrelevant. Yes BJs say that because Korean fan-groups are the most idotic, racist and angry person walking this planet. That she can't do as much as she wants, and you pointed that out, is probably partly due to YGs incompetence when it come to coordinate his artists.

Minzy will probably do well after US with her solo stuff, so will CL and Bom if she manages to get a foot back in. dara was never able tos ing, well, and will go on doing what she does now.

I agree. but CL has been very very dissapointing to me, this is how I just feel, that she's a complete mess and I'm so underwhelmed about the 'music' she has put out, I mean - poor taste etc.
I still hope to see at least one full album from CL, no matter Korean or American, because so many years just seem to be wasted, you know.
