Well on most cases the band/artist with the most impressive overall performance wins. Especially if they have the stage props and stuff. Lordi won because of their crazy costume and original and brave style. Helena Paparizou won because she was sexy, wild and had a very catchy song.

There's a lot of things which are making me feel unsatified with our country's entry (Malta). Since Malta never learns, we only focus on vocals. Olivia's extras are not that impressive. Maybe they'll polish it towards the end or something. Secondly, since winning Oliva seems to have started binging on food and it shows. Also her fashion sense is really.. questionable. Sure it's a singing contest but if you look good people will appreciate more. The promotional video is also kinda boring and mechanical. But then we barely never release a promotional video which is truly good stuff. Hope she does well in any way though.

I've got the fever right now and I'm watching the promotional videos on veoh.

I haven't listened to the entries yet but I've come across blogs discussing the semifinal and the common opinion seems to be that there's only a few countries sure to make it to the final, a few that have no chance, and the majority are pretty much equal. No Lordi/Helena Paparizou standout yet. I guess that means it could turn out to be a close race; it would be pretty exciting, actually, if we only found out the winner when the final country gave its points.

Hungary ended up being my semifinal favourite. Good voice and a classier song than I expected to find in Eurovision. I liked the Finnish dance performance at the end too (I missed the explanation, but I guess it was Kalevala-inspired somehow).

I watched the semi-finals. I was pleasantly surprised how well the show was put-together , the stage was awesome and there was no sign of any problems (i think some of the previous contests there have been issues with the audio quality etc.). I liked the hosts too , Jaana especially. tho I'm probably biased cos I've always considered her as the best female host for tv-programs we have here in Finland ...

as for the songs , I think most of the interesting ones are in the finals so I didn't pay much attention.

my predictions of countries that will do well & one of them is the winner:

- Russia
- Sweden
- Hungary
- Turkey
- UK

I wonder how well will Ukraine do? lol

btw other Finnish AHSers; I wonder to the heck translates the subtitles for the songs? LOL

The semi-finals was a good show, although stage didn't impressed me much. After great Greek one that looked so small you know. But all in all the concert was nice to look and hear. Did you saw that many seats in the middle of the arena were empty...? Well, I am only unhappy because Polish representatives didn't go through and in my opnion they were great, really. But the final tommorow can't wait to see that xD Let's hope it will be amazing (one of the most often used word during eurovision ).

The semifinals were okay. Everything seemed to work properly and the hosts were good, especially Jaana. However, most of the songs were horrible...

My favorites from the semifinals are Georgia and perhaps Turkey too (I never listen to music like that but "Shake it up, Shekerim" was somehow very catchy...).

Finland's song isn't very amazing this year but I don't care, Lordi's victory last year is enough for me.

It's so stupid, I was surprised that most of the people here chose that band to go to the Eurovision, specially with such a stupid song ><.

Song from Israel might seemed stupid but it treats with a serious problem. It's just not Eurovision type song Although it was fun to listen to them after horrible Bulgaria's performance. Today is final, hope it will be memorable one.

Ola Salo (the singer in The Ark) used the same outfit that Carola used, to show attitude against her, transsexualism if you want . It was The Ark vs. Carola in the Swedish contest, and The Ark, with all their attitude, totally won.

The singer is also openly homosexual, you should take a listen to their 2nd album.

Ack, I totally forgot about Eurovision X'D The only thing I know is that the portuguese entry sucked A LOT, as usual. The 2003 entry was good, but that was it...
And I love last year's "We are the winners" XDDDDD
