My Japanese teacher says that the ultimate problem is when you literally translate from one language to another... and it also doesn't help that she thinks in both languages, haha. But I think Utada speaks in a slow manner only because she knows she's being recorded, and she wants it done on the first take.

I'm sure most bilinguals have this problem though... like, the fact that you have to translate, sometimes very quickly and accurately, so when you say something, it's different from what you translated.

My top choices would be Namie and Kuu, but I picked Namie. Honestly, I don't really like a high and squeaky voice. Namie's voice is very mature. Kuu has the same thing, but sometimes she tries to sounds cutesy and that's the voice I don't dig. The thing I don't like about Hikki's voice is that I can barely hear what she's saying. I'm trying to learn the language and whenever I hear it, it sounds like she's mumbling. As for Ayu, she doesn't usually talk with her squeaky voice anymore, but I just remember her as having the squeakiest voice ever.

i've often wondered what's ayu's real voice, if she has that lower voice
she usually talks with now privately or if she really strains herself to not be

But I like the voice (speaking) of Ayu and Kuu as well! Kuu is always so enthusiastic and Ayu, well Ayu is just cute!
