Kelly Clarkson 2007 New Album - My December

I can't believe anyone can possibly dislike this album. I bought it last week and I've listened to it three times already. I loved every song from the very first time I heard it. I'm insanely impressed with Kelly on this album and I think that she's really found her niche with this type of music. It suits her so well and we don't have enough female rockers in my opinion. Already, this album beats out either of Evanescance's.

I just think she's made better albums in my opinion. I only liked NEVER AGAIN and that's after listening to it a billion times

I'm stuck on Never Again and Don't Waste Your Time. Those songs are lovely <3

But the full album sounds too simply and without any inovation.

Yeah. My fav is NEVER AGAIN, then HAUNTED is my second option.

Compared to Breakaway, this is not that fantastic

Tracks I'm loving: Never Again, One Minute, Sober, Haunted, Maybe (the build to the end is incredible), and How I Feel. If there's any song I'm not really a fan of it would probably be Be Still. It's a little too slow and dull, but I seriously like the entire album.

I've heard a lot of people say that, but if she had made Breakaway Pt. 2, I think she would've gotten more flack than she's getting now, IMO.

So after the album being out for a few months, I've been hoping that iTunes might release her International bonus tracks, but it's only released "Dirty Little Secret", which I've already legally purchased. The other two are "Fading" and "Not Today", does anyone actually have those and would be willing to share?

Prior to the album's release, sources reported that Clive Davis, the head of Sony-BMG, was dissatisfied with the album. Davis reportedly wanted Clarkson to make significant changes to the album, with some rumors claiming that he even wanted to delete the entire album, and have her record all new material. Clarkson reportedly refused to change any of the material. Initially, these reports were denied by representatives for both RCA and Clive Davis, with Davis specifically stating that Clarkson is "one of the top four artists at Sony-BMG" and wanted to ensure that she is treated as such.

Narvel Blackstock, Reba McEntire's husband, has since been hired by Kelly as her personal manager. In regards to her cancelled tour, disappointing ticket sales were acknowledged as a factor, and Clarkson stated that it (touring) was "too much too soon".Following the dismissal of her manager and cancelling her tour, Clarkson appeared in an issue of Elle Magazine, where it was revealed that Davis offered Clarkson $10 million dollars to remove five songs from the album in favor of five more radio friendly songs of Davis' choosing - including "Black Hole" which appeared on Lindsay Lohan's album, A Little More Personal (Raw). Clarkson refused the offer, and stated that:

“ I am a good singer, so I can't possibly be a good writer. Women can't possibly be good at two things. I haven't lost my temper about it. It only drives me more. If your thing is to bring me down, cool. I'll just work harder."

I also heard that her label didn't promote her cd , because they said, they were giving her a " lesson". I personaly love this cd , the lyrics are more deeper, like sober, that almost made me cry Of course i love Breakaway cd too, but i think it's unfair how her laber & manager didn't like the cd because it was darker , i'm on kelly's side and i hope that she changes her label and find someone who truly values her!

I normally wouldn't bump such an old dead thread, but what's with all the hate of My December? I personally liked it better than Breakaway o_o. But then again, I tend to like darker music...

Aw, I LOVE My December! I always liked a few songs from Kelly Clarkson, but I didn't really LOVE her till I heard MD ^__^ Seriously, the lyrics are fantastic! And I love the musical direction too ^_^ It's such a good album~ And it made me have so much more respect for Kelly xD

Mh.. Personally I prefer the Breakaway CD. Yeah MD's lyrics are deeper and better than Breakaway ones... but I prefer the Breakaway atmosphere!^^

I can't listen to every song on Breakaway, to be honest. The only ones I really listen to are Since U Been Gone, Behind These Hazel Eyes and Because of You. However, I love EVERY song off of My December. Haunted made me cry the first time I listened to it because it was so powerful XP

So I remember hearing she had a new cd due out this year. I guess they are trying to make up for the sales of My December or something like that. Whatever, ***** the sales and ***** Mr. Davis, with all due respect, I thought it was fantastic and will never get tired of certain songs on there.
