The Anime Expo show was not sold out. The capacity was about 9000 and they got about 6000. The floor section was pretty much sold out. Everybody else was in the loge/middle tier. The upper level was completely empty.

They REALLY need to release some music already! I got really pumped up watching all the videos on YouTube, but then again the quality isn't very good...I'm mostly anticipating "Beneath the Skin"--the piano/violin/shamisen combination is great!

Then AX's crack publicity team exaggerated their press release for the show.
I would guess that the tix that cost money were sold out but the free tix still had seating available?

Nope, there were still "Premiere Tickets" available. Because AX wanted to fill up the floor section, they had to give away a lot of these Premiere Tickets. A lot of the tickets that were given away were better than the tickets that people paid for.

When AX comes out with a press release, it is almost always highly exaggerated.

Wow...I saw two Premiere tickets for the concert go for $500 on eBay. That really sucks for the people who bought them. AX just seemed really disorganized this year.
