Secret Sales

well I was looking for how the sales were going for Secret and I went to wiki (I know its not really true, but still checked it out) and I came to this

Sold Copies (Oricon)
666,396

Sold Copies (Avex Trax)
900,000

can someone tell me the actual sale status of Secret pretty please

If I remember correctly, the avex sales are just the copies they've shipped. Oricon's sales are the officially counted. *I think*

Yeah, Oricon counts approximately how many people purchased the product from a record store + the amount of Japanese people who purchased it from Neowing/something else.
I think avex reported the amount that they sent to all kinds of stores - whether real life or online.

SOLD are the Oricon reported sales
SHIPPED are what avex shipped

so, as you can see, avex are just reporting how many copies were shipped to retailers. Oricon report the total amount sold by these retailers.

^Wow! Avex can seem quite snobby sometimes! >_> Is there really a need for them to post how copies of a CD are shipped?!

Well, CD certifications in Japan and in the US as well are given by the number of CDs shipped, not sold.
