With the end of 2007 close, my verdict is in:
I think "Kumuriuta" is her best song this year, followed by "HEART". Lyrics, melody, voice...those two songs embodied all the elements that make Ai's music, well, amazing. And they embodied them in incredible fashion. Next to those two I also liked "Kimi ni Kaeru." and "Pocket" as far as 'serious' songs go, with "Katori Senkou" and "White Choco" as favorites for the upbeat/silly songs. To be honest I wasn't that impressed with "LOVE PIECE", and though the likes of "Mirai Taxi" and "Mackeral's canned food" are decent and easy on the ears, none of the album-only songs (with the exception of aforementioned songs) really struck a cord with me as unforgettable. So yeah, though I believe 2007 has been Ai's best year in terms of financial success, I think some of her earlier releases were more consistent in terms of quality. I also like the LOVE 99 COOK and JAM PUNCH tours as well as the 2006 LOVE IS BORN concert much better than the Ai Am Best tour. Ai's still a favorite of mine so I can't wait to see what she has in store in terms of music in 2008.

I agree with namiie. Kumuriuta was Ai's best song this year, and I thought it was her best song since 2005. PEACH/HEART was an alright single too. However, I thought POCKET was extremely boring. As for LOVE PiECE, I never really liked her album songs that much, so I guess I wasn't let down or anything.

Between 2006 to 2007, the only songs that I've really liked are Frienger, Yumekui, Tears, and Pocket, everything else is just kinda forgettable. While I like the melody of Kumuriuta, something about her vocals in that song just kind of disconnect me from it.
To be honest, I was quite disappointed with LOVE PiECE.

LOVE PiECE is a great album with good single tracks but the new album tracks are just mediocre |

Yay for Ai being in Kouhaku (but naturally, of course
 )!! What do you think she'll sing? I will hurt someone if she ends up singing CHU-LIP or PEACH lol. XD Fun songs, but not for Kouhaku, I think....Hopefully Pocket or Kumuriuta
