I think I only noticed the time for Kuu to be lip synching is when she has dance scenes and has a microphone she holds, not one that's on her head.or per say, when a part of the song is digitally modified.

Seriously I would definately check out her live performances!!
Her vocals are always great when she performs live!!!
And I'm not trying to be biased here, but Koda Kumi is an excellent performer..
She knows how to work a stage and keep the audience entertained!!
She might not have the fancy props like Ayu does but she does one hellova show!!
I'd know, I went to the Black Cherry Finale at Tokyo Dome...

As for the lipsync... Koda Kumi rarely lipsyncs!!!
I've only noted once where she lipsynced and that was on her first Live DVD (Trust You Performance)...
Other than that she doesn't.....
The so called "lip syncing" everyone is talking about is the playback she does...
For reasons unknown, Kuu's been deprived of a band until recently...
So they use playback for her music and they don't use backup singers so they use her own voice...
Thus there are times when she stops singing and the playback takes over...

Wow. Sh really used the chance to give a show at a dome. BTW, how much did the tickets cost and was it at Tokyo Dome?

The tickets were 7,777 yen for the Tokyo Dome performance..
And the normal tour ones were 6000 something yen...

Most of them were whole songs... While some of the songs were cut short (ie. Love Holic, Chase, Come With Me, Come Over)....
Kuu only had 3hours at Tokyo Dome and she wanted to show off alot so some of the songs on the normal tracklist lost their 2nd verse...

Most songs were 1st verse + chorus + bridge/final chorus...
it was an awesome show though!!! We couldn't get enough of her!!!

That's the only thing I don't like in kumi's way of performance, instead of singing the most, she screams a lot to the crowd by the playback...

The tracklist is good though, I hope she'll sing more this time.

She sang everything... You'll be seeing less and less of that screaming stuff now..
Especially since she's doing Arena Tours now...
I actually liekd the screaming, its great interaction between her and the audience...
Like her ~first things~ tour where she had the audience sing along to Take Back...
And then in ~second session~ there was alot of screaming and waving and stuff....

The Tokyo Dome performance didn't have either... but everyone did the usual wave and stuff either way....
Its too big for her to interact with the audience that way... but she still manages to get some chat time with us.. =D

hmmm...then I guess I can't say I know, because I hadn't seen Black Cherry or Live Hall.

Her newer concert is probably different, because of the band and all, but her older ones (at least from the parts I watched) it's not lip-sync, it's more of just ad-libbing to the playback sings when the song involves too much dancing.

I would love to go to a concert, but I think I would probably hate the screaming. Already bad memories from homecoming games in my school *shudders*

so many songs, lots of oldies popped up... staging was generally quite nice...

basically same set list..
the storyline starts with kuu being a mermaid and shes about to get attacked by a witch.. but then something happens and she wakes up before anything happens...

introduction was the opening.. and kuu appeared in a tank of water...
she had long hair... and then she started singing what seems to be Black Cherry... it was new so it sounded abit strange....

then there was a short interlude while she got changed into the outfit you saw... its a captains outfit and the staging was set up like a ship.. then the introduction continued...

the usual setlist appeared... then kuu stripped off the top during heat.. and the male dancers invited a girl to sit on stage.. but she was chained up... then break it down.. dont expect much dancing for this one...

storyline continues.. and kuus gets the key from a pirate who had it.. then it turns back time and she remembers how she was a mermaid...
then she appears on the runway which was like glowing blue.. and she sang several ballads...

some sections of the runway elevated and by the time the end came she was singing koi no tsubomi.. which she got elevated on what was a pink box kinda thing... and the dancers came out in dresses andumbrellas and they did simple dancing....

during that time the stage was covered by the curtains as they were changing the staging...
then it was the rock theme.. the story continues and kuu now as a mermaid is at a circus.. and the guy who she supposedly loved he turns out to be the ringmaster and makes her an attraction...
so he cages her up and puts her on display...

then the music starts for ningyo-hime.. and on the stage the band is visible and shes in a glass box...
the costume is different to the one on the arena tour.. its a black bikini with shorts and a cape...
so she breaks out of the cage and sings ningyo-hime and freaky...

then the screen shows shots of last angel.. and then dbsk appear and they perform last angel... the boys leave... and kuu changes...
she comes back in the same shorts but with a fluro top....

then she starts talking for a bit but then she starts singing...
and this is where the changes start... she started singing her CM songs...
all the cms were on the screen.. and shed sing about half a chorus to each song while the cm is playing the back....
so it included we will rock you, run for your life, sora etc...

after that go way and some other songs i cant remember and she leaves the stage....
so we all do the encore thing.. and then the screen lights up with the blue man group shots.... then the blue men and kuu appear...
kuu in a pair of short white overalls with a jacket with a furry hood..
she had a wig and its the one with the fringe but it looked really good....

then she sang this is love with the blue men... then kuu goes around the dome much like ayu does in a-nation...
and shes waving and singing oldies such as chase and love holic...
then she performs the normal version of cutie honey and take back....
then as she returns to the stage, come with me and girls are performed...
kuu then disappears and we all encore yet again....

then suddenly the screen starts and its backstage with the 2 male dancers...
and then they meet kuu and tell her about us... and shes like i want to sing more.. but do you want me to???
then we scream and shes like even if my mc is boring...???

then she appears and the normal encore starts with but...
then a small talk about how the concert was.. how she was feeling..
then she told us about how she bruised her eyes during one of her tour dates when she hit her head on her knee...
she advertised for kose and mentioned her new cm....

some talks on love and then ai no uta and then wind... and finally walk...
kuu had a small talk in between where she was crying saying how hard it was to get to where she is.. and how her parents werent happy at times... and how we shouldnt give up on dreams.. cause if she did it you can too....


overall...
great concert.. kuu has great presence... the staging was decent... not too shabby but not crazy as ayus....
nice and long setlist.. the show went for almost 3 hours.. and the normal setlist was the same yet the songs were shortened...
for the first section it was all playback bgm.. but then when the rock section started it was the band... and it was really good....

dancers.. well there were the usual dancers from the arena tour.. andsome old faces.. there were about 12 members there...
outfits were reasonable... the encore outfits were really nice....

in general... it was packed as!! almost all the seats were gone... only one or two blocks empty...
goods went to sale like crazy.... the long was like sooo long... and it didnt come cheap...
everything was for sale.. cds dvds and free posters...

lots of advertising during the show.. the medley was advertising her endorsed products... and during the show she was advertising the protein bar.... and avex and the blue man group...
she self advertised her goods at the before the start of the show...

we also got some kingdom promotion..
sneak peeks for the album... anytime sounds like a good song.. it sounds promising..
the album hmmm... theres a few cutesy songs there... the pvs dont look spectacular.. they are like greenscreen computer stuff or in a room...
but bearable i hope....

i think thats about it... lots of fun!!! im off.. internets going to die now..

Yay! Thanks god so we'll get some full sanged songs!
The intercation with the audience is good, but I prefer that it won't take most of the concert, and as you say hopefully it didn't happen on the ARENA TOUR, so I'm happy ^_^.
