Yup I know SPEED too.
It was them who got me into Jpop.
Listened to them when I was just 11 years old.

For hiro, I think her latest single was Itsuka futaride.
Don't know where she has gone since that single.
Just hope that she will continue doing music.

yup I think that's right. And they also released an album called BRIDGE,
for SAVE THE CHILDREN 2003 charity.

Hiro released the single itsuka futaride in Aug 2006.

As for Eriko, yup she released an album, Neverland, under the name elly in 2006.
She was previously married and has a son but she divorced just last year.

ERIKO HAS A SON?!?!?!
SPEED was also my first Jpop that I listened to and i had this celebrity crush on her. That was a long time ago though.
Anyway, the only albums that I bought of theirs are the three compilation albums. 'White Love', 'ALIVE', and 'Go! Go! Heaven!' are the songs I liked the most.

You can NEVER forget this performance.

They were, if not my first then one of them, JPOP groups that started me. I'm only 16, so I must have been listening since first grade or kindergarten... (suprisingly, I'm not fluent! Ahaha)

But yeah. I even remember lip-synching songs when I wanted to in like, second grade. Ahahaha. They were one of those groups where if you haven't heard of them, then you were like, a dork. Ahaha. I would have to say besides ZONE and Morning Musume, this was the one true group where EVERYONE knew. No matter what, whenever you turn on a Japanese Music show, there was some reference to them.

One tidbit: None of the singles they released (while they were intact, not reunioned) sold less than 500,000 (and I believe that was their first single that set the hurdle). Many credit that to Eriko and Hiroko, the two front members (especially Hiroko, who was 13 I believe at the time of their debut). Imagine voices as strong as a studio version (if not stronger) LIVE WITH DANCING. That gave them a LOT of credit.

But yeah. They were THE group. I would say that they ARE the most successful girl group in the history of Japan given their lifespan. Although Morning Musume is still going strong, and even though I fully support them, I think that even they can't compare to SPEED. Not even ZONE or Pink Lady.

I'm not too familiar with the group, but I absolutely adore Takako's solo stuff. It's sad that her singing career is pretty much over, though.

that's right.
they really can sing and dance at the same time very well!!
very good stamina!
real girlband indeed.

at that time, my fav member was Eriko!
But slowly, I'm growing closer to hiro cuz thought that
her vocal's improving. no more irritating high-pitches.

@mtora83 - yup Eriko has a son.

^no problem at all! =)
you want Carry On My Way? I can upload for you but might take up some time.

Yup they were very popular at that time.
I only knew about them when they released their first compilation
album Moment. Saw the advertisement on TV and I was
in love with White Love. So decided to borrow the album from my
friend. I really love it after listening it and bought a copy for myself!
