a good friend of mine in japan told me just then that she was in a music store in downtown tokyo the other day and GUILTY was sold out. hope that's a good sign for a weekly number one.

it's quite scary to see Kobukuro & Ayumi's sales figures being so close together , it's like a neck to neck fight against each other .

I think everyone's scared of Kobukuro & if I'm correct they didn't really hit it big until 3 years ago with Koko ni Shika Sakanai Hana which was used as the theme song to the dorama Ruri no Shima .

With that said , I really do hope that Ayumi can climb back to the top with GUILTY . It's a great album & even though I have to admit Kobukuro produces great music , I would hate to see Ayumi kicking off her 10th year anniversary in the music business in a bad way but then again , not being no.1's not the end of the world , you can't forever be on top .

x1.7 seems too high, may be 1.68.
I think Misia will beat Ayu.

Well, A BEST 2 -WHITE- sold, like, 17% of A BEST. While I don't think if Ayumi would release A BALLADS 2 in February/March 2009, it would sell 160k, it still wouldn't be a massive success.

i just finished download music station super live 2007...
and kobukuro get a lot of applause when they appear, many people shouted and yell, they really popular...looks like they are really in the top of their career...while ayu is going nowhere...still in her position...

Well, techincally A BALLADS was a remix album that contain songs that were already featured on A BEST. I think we Ayumi retires or whatever, AVEX can make an A BALLADS II and lot more stuff that will still make Ayumi profittable after her singing days.

^ Actually, I agree. I think A BEST 2 would've sold more if some of the tracks were re-recorded instead of just digitally remastered.

I find that weird as well actually. I believe there should be enough footage to make a full NEVER EVER pv (.. unless they just filmed that portion of the song). NEVER EVER is quite unique in ayu's discography (using high pitch voice throughout the whole rockish song ). I adore this song a lot back then.

Seriously, I think GUILTY can get the #1 spot....its doing great for its second week on the charts. I hope Kobukuro doesn't beat her this week. They don't need the #1 again anyway!
