^ unless there's a tibetan speaker here noone would be able to find out the meaning because babelfish and every other translation thing translate each character as if it was on its own and then puts it all together in a sentence that more than likely never makes sense =p

and i'm assuming an arab league is a bunch of arabs together in a group xD;

Actually, if you put the two characters together on Babelfish, they're translated as "Arlan"

English isn't my first language, but in the Merriam-Webster Online dictionary, there's no such word as "Arlan" XD
And the only article I get from Wikipedia when I type "Arlan" is this:
Quote:
Aironet ARLAN
ARLAN is a family of both proprietary non-802.11 and 802.11-compliant wireless networking technologies developed and marketed by Aironet Wireless Communications in the 1990's prior to Aironet's acquisition by Cisco Systems.
...which I don't think has anything to do with alan, lol XD

So I kinda guessed that 阿兰 probably doesn't mean anything together and it's just a name, so Babelfish was trying to give me the pronounciation... so I decided to see what the kanji meant separately

And even if they don't really mean anything together, I still think it's weird to name a child with them XD but them again, I don't know anything about chinese language/names

But I thought it was kinda amusing XD
