I love how OLIVIA's music is becoming more mainstream/pop-oriented - her NANA works are my favorite. Since her music's less dark nowadays, I take it her life is improving?

Or maybe she's just being more conscious of what the public wants/what is mainstream friendly. She probably felt bad during that whole period where her sales were complete crap. I bet she likes having her releases actually rank on the oricon chart nowadays.

Hi everyone! I feel ashamed for not finding this thread before!

I'm watching NANA, and while watching it i discovered an amazing artist. I'm talking about Olivia of course.

I LOVE her songs. So far i've only listened to the ones inspired by Reira *along with Bleeding Heart*

So, i think i'll be an active member on this thread ^^ *milky-chan you're here!

guilty_me: If you want to see how diverse, unique and brilliant Olivia really is then I recommend you listen to the Lost Lolli album.

Bleeding Heart is good, but I think it's safe to assume we lost the nutty side of Olivia

I just hope she is more happy with her material now, I saw an interview with her at a convention in the US just after her NANA releases and she mentioned how depressed she was after the Lost Lolli. Seeing how quiet and reserved she is, I really felt like giving her a hug!

^ yeah I wish her older material sold more, she seemed like was able to be more like herself.If she becomes more mainstream freindly she would sell more ,but I would always love that nutty side of OLIVIA

I thought she was depressed because of a bad relationship with another singer? I heard she moved to America, took life slower, and became happier in general, but maybe I'm thinking of another artist.

Regardless, I love her mainstream pop/rock releases.

Sugarbloodsuckers is pretty awesome xD I love the ending, it's so epic and creepy!

I miss OLIVIA's craziness too, though >: I've only been a fan of hers for about a year so far, but I absolutely ADORE her Lost Lolli era stuff!! I love how experimental and different her songs were - I had never heard anything like them, especially ones like Celestial Delinquent, Denial, and Blind Unicorn xD

I totally understand, though, how she might want to branch out into more mainstream and "poppy" music, though~ I just wish she'd release something a tad experimental >: like another song like tears & rainbows or Close your eyes~

I like Bleeding Heart, though ^__^ It's very sweet :3

. Why is she depressed? Maybe it's because when she was at her NANA era (which i think is what made her famous) she was releasing songs as Reira. I mean, she tried to reflect Reira's feelings and not hers, so maybe she would like that people apreciated more her "original" songs, rather than just her NANA stuff

But well, maybe i'm wrong. I'm just a newbie when it comes to Olivia.

BTW, someone mentioned tears & rainbows and Close your eyes. Those songs are so weird that i just love them LOL
