Deep River+

Two mirrors face to face,
emitting melody and reflecting each other.
When I meet someone like myself,
will I also exude a melody like this?

Regardless of child or adult,
none dislikes seeing himself in the mirror.
Fighting to be reflected,
just to forget the existence of the mirror,
and in lonely silence remember emptiness.

I am the mirror.
For those paralyzed where light cannot reach,
I do not give aid,
but do all I can to move the body nearer.
Then we will see the same scenery.
I know that, pain,
if shared, will be reduced.
Although even when the sorrow is less,
the world remains unchanged,
but to me it is a whole new panorama.
Everyone searches for something like himself.
No matter how much I hate myself,
being close to something like myself I will cherish.
In feelings of respect or looking forward,
there is no love.
But in a lifetime, the most loved,
is the person who is most similar to myself - my child.

I am the child.
I believe I am on the right track,
which is why along the way the things that I lose,
or give up,
are absolutely not a kind of sacrifice.

The sky closes its eyes.

Anyone has the original Japanese poem?
very deep lyric
thanks

It's supposed to be Utada's name in Japanese script. Sometimes when you paste kanji/kana from another place it'll come up as question marks (especially wikipedia/wikki.theppn). It's done that to me too even though my cpu reads Japanese.

I wish I could poetry like that. I absolutely stink at poetry and writing in general. I can write by following a formula, but writing creatively is a hit-or-miss for me.

^Diddo. I've always felt that way. If I don't write them down, all these in my mind words will keep floating in my head until I feel fit to bursting.

I wonder how HEART STATION when the week's totals and rankings are released. I hope it manages to do at least 42k, because if she does, then that'll beat UB's fourth week.

LoL, poetry is a very difficult art form. Only those really gifted at it or have amazing writing skills could pull it off successfully. Hence why I never try it, because every. word. counts.

I think writing is a great way to express emotions, especially if you're a private person (which I am). The problem, when I do write based on emotions, it comes out a jumbled mess that makes me cringe whenever I look back on it later. I think I've got the emotion part down - it's the writing that's I'm no good that. I guess that's why we can't all be poets and songwriters. Folks like Utada Hikaru and Ayumi Hamasaki are born lucky.

On a side note, my poetry is the corniest thing ever. I could seriously give Barney a run for his money.

I really like the poem, but I think I like the lyrics of "DEEP RIVER" itself a lot better. For some reason I feel like songs have a deeper connection that poems alone.

I agree^^ I just started writing my own stuff. Like right now, I started some song lyrics since I want to get a head start on my singing career(if it ever happens ) It's kind of hard though, but easy if you're a private person, like Melon Panada said.
