Technically, it's a gender neutral word, but in usage, it's different. 99% of the time the Japanese say 'ano ko' it's referring to a young woman. Or a REALLY little kid.

I'm also trying to see how the lyrics (which are really nice, btw) have anything to do with marionettes. Maybe marionettes are expressionless, but that's a bit of a stretch. I don't get any impression of fate or being pulled by strings in this song. It just sounds cool.

So powerful... god, I started to tear up just reading the translation.

I want to read all the lyrics back to back while listening to the album to really "get" the story Ayu's trying to tell us.

I know that
But how about "aitsu"??

Is it also gender neutral or just refer to a guy?

Dorai dorai itsu no hi mo
Utsukushiku utsuru mono
Dare no meni mo onaji you ni

Hitomi --> me

My mistake. 瞳 is commonly read as "hitomi", and I wrote so, looking at the kanji, before listening to the song. I corrected the word. Thank you.

But the word in the 1st line is "omoide".

Spoiler:
We had such a nice time. We started dating in t2m PV, took it slow you know, let our love grow. Then it got really serious in 2008. Then after AT2009 we moved in together. It was lovely. Then on AT2010 he asked me to marry him. He was such a sweet. And Ayu gave us our blessings. She was also such a sweet. Now me and Maro are such a sweets together. Aaaw, how time flies.
