I love BoA but I wish they would give her something new to sing. I feel like I've heard her sing all these "Vivid" songs a million times before under different titles. This is why LOSE YOUR MIND was good, no matter how much a lot of BoA fans don't like it. It was actually something she hadn't sung a million times before!
Sorry, not trying to diss BoA or anything, I'm just kind of frustrated that the girl who used to be one of my favorite singers is now releasing the same song for the 23905203th time in the past 3 years!

I think Sparkling is pretty good, it's not as boring as Kissing You (which is nice, but sounds like the same song over and over..). I really miss her power ballads. I hope joyful is good (haven't listened yet...)

^OMG, Kissing You does sound like a leftover from THE FACE.
 But yeah, I'm disappointed woth this single especially since she gave this single such a fierce title. I thought it was going to be a whole different side to BoA....but I got my hopes up a little too high. *crosses fingers for an awesome single from BoA next time*

So, I listened to Kissing You and Sparkling (watched the PVs) and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. The songs were much better than the crap she put on The Face, but they still don't compared to awesome songs like Be the One, or stuff like that. I thought the PV for Sparkling was rather cute though.

I just watched the PVs for Kissing you and Sparking. Song wise, Sparking's pretty good, but Kissing you is kinda boring...

I just have to say that Girl In The Mirror was prolly her best new song, and I love the Vivid single, but I'm not crazy for it where I'll play it nonstop like Girl In The Mirror...I made a fanmade pv for it but I think it sucks...lol...but I'm putting it on youtube anyways...LOL

All of the songs on VIVID are good, but good in the sense that they're a copy of what worked in the past. As much as I love bubblegum-pop, even I have my limits. These songs were catchy the first time around in VALENTI and LOVE & HONESTY, but now they're boring.
I think BoA needs a vacation where she can rest up from work and start making the kind of music she wants to make, not the recycled stuff producers give her. |
