I'm not a huge fan of of "I'll Be Lovin U Long Time". the overbearing sample makes it sounds like a Ashanti song or something lol, it's sorta cheesy.

the singles choices have not been the best possible & mariah's public profile has taken a dive after this whole wedding deal. it's not getting that much of tabloid attention, people are thinking it's either a lame publicity stunt or she's at the verge of a new mental meltdown ...

I agree with you 100%. I actually really don't like IBLULT at all and think it was a horrible single choice. Honestly, I hope it is not successful at all. When songs like that are successful, it just shows other songwriters that it's OK to write mediocre crap like that since not only will you get away with it, you'll have great sales. She's shooting the video in Hawaii right now and my friend is going to try and meet her since she's staying at the same hotel where his friend is having her wedding.

Eh I would agree if you had mentioned a song like Lollipop, Crank Dat, or Low, all of which were crap and sold a billion copies for reasons I'll never understand, but IBLULT? I thought it was great.

Also doesn't remind me of Ashanti at all... I actually get more a old motown feel to this song when I hear it.

It's the same sample that Ashanti used before.

That's because it uses the same DeBarge sample that Ashanti's "Foolish" did. A ton of songs use that sample for some reason.

I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that the public thinks that, but it doesn't look like it's hurting her sales. HDD estimates that E=MC2's numbers were actually up this week, and she's ahead of both Leona and Madonna. She will also cross the million mark this week for US sales.

good for Mariah. I was not really following her sales, I was just talking about the media attention she gets. I think there was more buzz about her weight loss & new image than her wedding.
I think the wedding thing actually hurt her image, it was so bizarre & sudden. but whatever ...

I don't have anything against using samples, but I'd just feel that Mariah should stay ahead of "lesser" RnB starlets and use fresh ideas instead of re-using some played out sample.
building a song around a sample is so Ashanti/Amerie/d-grade RnB IMO.

I'd love Cruise Control to be the next single. something fun & upbeat for the summer would be cool.

I agree with you on that. It definitely reminded me of when I saw her on TRL stripping and passing out ice cream... we all know what happened after that.

That sample was actually used originally by Biggie's "One More Chance", Ashanti (and Mariah) and everyone else just copies what he did. MC's a huge fan of his.
