I know it's crazy and childish, but I kind of like being the only person for miles and miles who can recognize the sound of "Amazing Kiss" anywhere. I kind of don't want a bunch of American noobs Bogarting the BoA...

I sort feel the same way. I like being the one of the few who know who she is. The LAST thing I want is a bunch of my fellow American Freak Shows flaunting our BoA, since they know nothing about her. We have more rights than they do, we're fans of her works in her native country and Japan.

BoA has a history of being able to break into markets that don't accept foreigners. She's really the first Korean who was able to do well on the Oricon, hell, her album #1 streak is only topped by Ayu. She may be the one who breaks Asians into the American music scene as well.

If she really meant that stuff about not wanting to preform anymore, then I feel really bad for her being pushed into yet another market...

I have some faith in BoA, she is an amazing performer, the only thing she will need in the US I think will be promo and airplay. Airplay might be hard to get if her songs aren't totally sugar-coated to become a huge US hit like the vomit-inducing Lollipop and Low. Airplay will be an issue I think, but if she gets that she won't have any problems at all.

The good thing is she won't be totally starting here from scratch. I'm sure she has tons of fans in the US, like me for example. Like Utada, most of those who bought her album I would like to say were all fans of her previous work and have downloaded her Japanese albums before she released this one.

I hope she's not getting pushed to do this too much. I know I'd never be able to take all that. She already has like 20 albums out in, what, 7 years? All I know is that I'll be supportive of whatever her decision is.

@riozz:I think it's kinda funny (in a slightly sad way) that they have the same positions at different times of the year. I think by the end of the year, she will DEFINITELY be outta the top 40 and maybe she'll hang around the bottom of the top 50...maybe

I don't think she'll remain top 50, but there's a chance. Last year she would've got #64 with these sales. My random prediction is she'll be #47 for the year, don't know why but that seems like a good number to guess.
