I got my younger sister the HK press of the CD only edition of SUMMER SONG .

She looks really pretty upclose & the single sleeve pics are quite nice too .

I like the huge acoustic guitar that I saw when I took the CD out from the CD casing

YUI's already being overtaken by ayaka if you realise so there's no way YUI can overtake ayumi & not even Koda , no chance

I LOVED YESTERDAY hasn't sold as much as it should have. It should have definetly passed 500,000 by now... Oh well.... it's still pretty good!!!

well it got certified Double Platinum by RIAJ for shipment of 500K copies in Japan so that's not so bad

& talking about SUMMER SONG , it's currently no.4 on the top10 J & K Pop singles chart in Taiwan according to MTV Mandarin's J & K Pop Chart show that I watched just now since MTV Mandarin's based in Taiwan itself

it's aired every weekend on 6-7pm & it's nice to see her moving up the chart

So am i the only one here that thinks SUMMER SONG and h My God sound just like every other YUI song?

I'm not hating on her, btu the girl's gotta diversify her music a bit.

^ That's almost word for word of what I said when the full radio rip of SUMMER SONG was leaked. I mean, it's a good single, but I think it's about time that YUI tried out some new chords along with new melodies. I think that's the only complaint I have when it comes to YUI...which is that a lot of her songs sound similar. But of course, I still enjoy almost all of YUI's music.

well YUI's pop/rock tunes & sometimes it does get samey .

She should diverse a bit & move towards stuff like gritter rock pieces like what she did for Rolling star .

Well, at the very least, at least she is selling well.

But I dont think SUMMER SONG was really a single that deserved #1 ...

LOVE & TRUTH and My Generation / Understand were, though.

But to me, SUMMER SONG was such a poor single.

and haha, CHE.R.RY, it seems like a lot of people feel that way about YUI's music.

If YUI doesn't vary her music more, she'll turn out to be another one-hit wonder, which I hope doesn't happen. I feel like her guitar is almost limiting her, to an extent.

I'd honestly like something more synthetic from YUI.

And I think her only good ballad-y songs are Understand and LOVE & TRUTH

maybe she should pick up the piano or something to vary the style of her music

then again piano driven songs tend to get samey in due time

Well, picking up a piano might be a little hard.

I'd like to see something like the guitar + synth sounds from BLACK DIAMOND by Namie/DOUBLE as like, a whole song for YUI.

like, a really awesome hardcore dance song like that.

now THAT'D be different

somehow I don't see her having a dancer like song going on but I like the sound of a guitar + synth tune
