After 10 years... are you proud of Ayu?

In light of her 10th Anniversary, I would just like to state my feelings and thoughts of Ayu.

I got to know Ayu in late 2006, and even though I'm not an old fan of hers or anything, but I'm deeply touched by everything that she has put out in this scene.

Everything - her singles, albums, concerts... I think they have all achieved extraordinary results...

Sometimes I worry when she doesn't do so well, for example when GUILTY wasn't #1 on the charts. But as I look at the other budding singers whom I adore as well, I realized that Ayu is really doing much better than all of them combined.

Even though it has been 10 years, Ayu has not wavered in her popularity and position in the J-Pop music scene. Sure, she may not be the greatest singer, but we all know her voice and songs comes from her heart, and I think that's why she's still around.

I don't care anymore if people are going to criticize Ayu for anything that she has done/will be doing, I only know that I will respect whatever decisions she make for herself.

Ayu has taught me a lot of things from her interviews, attitude in concerts, and songs throughout these 1+ year, and I never regretted knowing her music.

So, looking at the newer singer's achievements, and looking at Ayu's own achievements in 1998... and traveling over the years... I can only say that I'm VERY proud of Ayu! Proud of her achievements, proud of her strength, proud of her determination, proud of her ever-shining soul...

So, as a fan, what are your thoughts of Ayu after her being in the music scene for 10 years?

well like yourself Jun Xiang I only became a fan of her 2 years ago & I'm definitely proud of everything that she has accomplished since the beginning .

For her when she initally started out with no dreams & thoughts of becoming a singer soon snowballed to something that she left lots of impact & changes in the Japan music industry & she deserved the respect coming from myself

Not proud but I am definitely satisfied! She has really grown and developed ( *ahem* anyways ) in many ways as an artist and a person it's... quite amazing really. The only thing I want is that she BLOODY DOES A SMOKIN' JAZZ SONG WITH A HOT PV! D: Is that so much to ask for? xD

Haha is the little video of her drinking champange and being girly in the Ladies Night - alterna performance in AT 06 good enough? The music sounded really jazzy to me!

And it's so heart-warming to see so many of us supporting and being proud of Ayu!

i am very proud of ayu! in fact i respect this woman! cos not only she showed her fans that she is putting in a lot of effort, she also has this never-give-up spirit. Just look at how she overcome every single obstacle as well as doing her best to put up her best show. She is also very sincere to all her fans from all the documentary we saw.

Moreover, she continues to sing when she is deaf and puts up the best concert ever this year.

i really cant expect more from her.

xDD That's not enough! The only way I can describe it is...

Take some of Shiina Ringo's classy sex appeal + Kojima Mayumi's super jazzy sound + my name's WOMEN PV = Ayu's new song and PV that will satisfy me xDD heck there doesn't even have to be a PV, but I would really love to see her try some jazz, especially with her new powerful vocals (listen to Secret, 1Love, kiss o' kill and tell me her vocals won't suit it. [Secret album anyways xD])

I can say that I am very proud of ayu and how far she has come to this day. she is such a risk-taker and always has the strength and courage to get back up again and say 'you know what, i'm not doing this just for me, but for my fans...'

Same here I am proud of her because in an overly sexualized music industry, Ayu still manages to stay true to her values. And even though, her music style has changed and she has gone through hardships, like us all, she still manages to continue on doing what she loves. And I respect her because even though she knows she is good at what she does, she still takes a moment to thank those around her (the band, dancers, background singers, and etc) for making her concerts possible and for supporting her throughout the years. And in general she is just a good human being.

If there's an artist that I'm very proud of, it's ayu.
I'm very proud at whatever she gained and did in the past 10 years and thank her a lot and looking forward for the next 10 years.
Every success and popularity she had/has/will have, she purely deserves it like the pure music and musical shows she makes and produces.

YES!!! I just want thay one Jazz song by ayu that has a PV similar to kuu's "feel" with the long silky red dress, grand stage, set in a lounge and then I'll be satisfied.

But yes she's accomplished quite a lot in 10 years and I am proud of ayu and proud to be an ayu fan for the past 5 years.

I listen ayu since the 2002, so are only 6 years that I know her :3 but even if aren't 10 years, I'm very proud of her.
She is one of the greatests pop artist in Japan and in the World, she makes sweet and intelligent lyrics that aren't (luckily) only 'I miss you baby I love you baby I'm so horny baby' (lol) as other pop artists. She also compose some of her songs, she doesn't change her music-style for sell more and she doesn't stop to sing for her deafness.
I know she is human with her faults, but I'm proud of her. I don't care for the bad comments or low sells, I still like her music.

Uhm, anyway sorry for my bad english >_<'

i've been an Ayu fan for like... 9 years? 8? i'm very proud of her. it's like, i've was with her through these years and listening to her, supporting her, and loving her ever more. i'm very proud of her and her accomplishments, her music, her phases and stages (hair, fashion, make up... etc.) she has done more than most celebs have done from singles, albums to miscellaneous things. considering her concerts, she has done absolutely amazing tours that totally outdo so many others. and also considering the fact that she was and is involved in most of her career, she's a superwoman. i'm very very very proud of Ayu, that's why she deserves my loyalty she has come far and she's the most influential Japanese, imo. she has taken many risks and has been one of the most creative and thoughtful celebs i know.

Yup, though some things are kinda "meh", like her ALL SINGLES album covers. =p I'm not openly fan though. My friends know, but other than that I'm not really open lol. It's not that I'm afrais/emberassed, but I don't take no shi t about my women and I dont feel like having a fight with someone when they say something bad about her.
