Similar red dress in Madonna's la isla bonita and Ayu's Mirrorcle World PV

I don't think it's that similar xD. Ayu's dress was longer and puffier. Madonna's had a lot less material in it.

Ayu's red ball gown in MW PV has the same style, color, and the material used but the one that makes a difference was the size.

The design is somewhat similar.

The only thing I can see thats similar is the colour and the hairdo.

Madonnas had a huge slits while ayus didnt.
Madonnas was clearly flamenco inspiried while ayus was more west european.
The neckline of both of the dresses are totaly diffrent.
Madonnas had polka dot folding while ayus didnt.
Madonnas dress had a corset while ayus didnt.
Also, the texture on Ayus dress is very diffrent of Madonnas.

Which came first, MW PV or the Madonna thing? I was wondering the same thing in the "ayu copies madonna" youtube video. Do we know when the photos were taken, whether both artiste's team ever collaborate? Anyway, even if ayu 'copied' madonna, i don't think it's her fault, it's probably her wardrobe team's. Would she have the time to scour western magazines for inspiration anyway...

Hahas, i saw this similarity a few months ago. My mom was trying to tell me how Ayu is sort of 'copying' Madonna. I dont like to use the term 'copying' but i guess that's what most of the celebrities are doing too, not just Ayu. I went like, "omg that red dress reminds me of Ayu in Mirrorcle World PV!".

I would copy her songs, concerts, and everything else too!!
The more Ayu does the same as Madonna, the better. Madonna's been on top of the world for 25 years.. I'd like to see the same thing for Ayu.

Ok, i didn't even exist then. I'll probably know the song if it's played but the title doesn't ring bells at all. Good for Madonna then. An Asian superstar is 'copying' her. If it doesn't bother Madonna, why does it bother AHS members? If it was a serious issue, Madonna's lawyers would probably send a bunch of letters to avex hoping to make a quick buck out of it.

Let's not make a huge deal out of this, the member who started the post wanted to know our opinions, didn't accused Ayu of copying Madonna, and i'm sure she wasn't trying to "copy" her. Madonna is a source of inspiration for many artists, including Ayu, who is a fan of her according to her own words... But in the end, we are having a discution about two red dresses haha

I'm a big Ayu fan, but seriously.

I love how other fans harp on how Ayu is SO in control of her career, and when it's convenient for them, they will spew things like "it's not Ayu's fault, it's the designer's." Give me a break.

People, she's a big Madonna fan. She's been to Madonna concerts. She's emulated Madonna before. She has that in common with many, many people. Madonna's an icon. The dress is obviously not the exact same dress, but in my opinion the style/cut is similar. And the hair accessory as well.

Does this make Ayu any less of an artist? No. Some trends are just popular and can be repeated.
