Its not..

I take the picture and the oversea version has a bad aspect ratio...a little stretched out looking

Well what I meant was that the camera was nearer to the top right hand corner of the OS press. Therefore making the cover of the OS one bigger.

I've actually compared with the Japan version too. No difference except the color tone as people has mentioned. Also, the disc tray for the discs are different.
