I really don't see everything that everyone is saying is wrong with this...i really really like it for some reason. It's a PV and we have to admit it's better than some of the other crap that's been released from her in the past couple of years...at least to me.

I still think this single is overall 100000x better than MW...for some reason that song just irks me...perhaps because it really wasnt something new...more like a instrumental turned into a song because avex made ayu release something on her 10th anniversary.

If I'm going to stick to my guns (my interpretation of Green as about identity as performance), Ayu is overexaggerating her movements in the beginning because she is overexaggerating her femininity. Her sexuality in this video is a performance, but her true identity is only revealed towards the end with Midoring.

I think the whole 30's Shanghai theme was really not used to it's full potential. the stage does not have the 30's feel. the street shots are overshadowed by ayu overdoing it. she needs to change the director before he ruins more PV's ...

I don't believe the PV has any deep underlying meanings, I just think it's style over substance. and they just used Midoring cos she's pretty, not because any statement. that's my take on the PV.

30's Shangai aka the "Pearl of the Orient" or "Paris of the East" was a really good idea , it's a shame it was wasted

The PV was good. The director did a nice job. Compared to many other of Ayu's PVs (especially her older ones), this had more potential and more depth. Of coarse, there is only so much that can be done in a 5 minute clip, so thie director's style is probably not bested suited for a normal length music video.

The story is about feelings and how someone shows them to others. Here, the performers show positive feelings on stage (ex. fake smiles), whereas backstage they have sadder feelings and they suppress them (Ayu thinking about something she yearns for in front of the mirror), which is what the lyrics is about too.

However, the first two minutes seemed slighty awkard to me. It did not add to the theme, but it seem to serve the purpose of setting up the scenery only, and to emphasize that it is taking place in an older China, much like in modern France in Mirrorcle World. I mean this could have been taking place anywhere anytime and the theme can still hold. I might be missing something here where Ayu walks the streets, but it seems the director placed this here either for respect to China or for people who just like looking at pretty scenes.

After the first two minutes, however, is when people get caught off gaurd and start to think about what is happening and it won't make sense at first (from walking the streets to a stage dance scene suddenly). Why the sudden shift? I don't know, but I do like the section of the PV after this. Symbolism become more apparent and not just some pretty looking PV with little or no meaning. There are some cliche's that probably could have been dealt with better, but that's a mute point.

I could be wrong and this PV could be about something completely different, like homosexuality. But I wouldn't mind that since lesbian Ayu would be awesome. Even tho I doubt it, I wish I was right on that. ^_^;

I think the last part just looks flawed because they couldn't get it right lol.

And the flashback part makes no sense as the streets are empty at the end but not the beginning.

No... I think people are including her walking down the empty street at the end as part of the flashback.

OHH it was the same director as Mirrorcle World? That explains why it was so awful. I told you never to direct an ayu video again!

I don't get why people talk about Ayu's acting. She was never a good actress and she was never a good dancer either. She is primarily a songwriter and model. She cannot be great at everything, even though she is many things (like producer, composer, singer, etc...). If I want to see good acting, I go watch a full length good-budgeted movie.

I disagree. I think the lyrics match the video.

* I noticed this love
The moment my fingertip touched his
And my feelings were
About to flow out

I wonder why it's difficult for us
To walk as we wish

Actually I've always
Realized for sure
But I turned my eyes from the reality
And denied the truth

** I'm staring at my dear person
I might tell him
Of this feeling
Around the time the wind changes

I really enjoyed the PV a lot My only real problem with it was the weird editing. They should have shown more of the outside place and the dragon. I think it would have been better

The PV did leave me wondering is this ayu's attempt at a "love knows no gender" video. I mean it looked like ayu was in love Midoring and with the two guys dancing backstage maybe its like that. I dunno lol

Exactly my feeling. I mean, they waste the whole first verse with only Ayu walking down the crowded street and overkill the lipsync.

I mean sure I can understand the whole idea with the story, but they never use enough time for the story. Instead they have wasted alot of time on just seeing Ayu singing or walking down the street.

For this huge budget, I really expected an amazing storyline, not just Ayu in diffrent places looking all pretty a la MW part II...

Spoiler:
We had such a nice time. We started dating in t2m PV, took it slow you know, let our love grow. Then it got really serious in 2008. Then after AT2009 we moved in together. It was lovely. Then on AT2010 he asked me to marry him. He was such a sweet. And Ayu gave us our blessings. She was also such a sweet. Now me and Maro are such a sweets together. Aaaw, how time flies.

Exactly. That's why it doesn't really bother me if she doesn't nail it. I've always kinda of liked her flaws anyway.

I'm glad someone around here is trying to make sense of the video and bringing their ideas to the table, instead of just going on and on about overacting and facial expressions. Thank you for saying something new and not stating the obvious

OOH I just noticed something

When Gomi enters the building, he has a bump with the left guy (dunno who bumps who) probably because the guy doesn't accept that Gomi's gay? And Shuya's looking at Gomi like hmm I'm gay but SHOULD I TELL HIM? (<- reference to the lyrics)

Actually the lyrics do make sense in a homosexuality perspective. ^^

And it's quite obvious that the dancing scene with Midoring is a daydream.

SUPERBAD!!
aggggh, honestly, embaressing...

- ayu shouldn't have hair like this. many of you think she looked beautiful. but i think the costumes/hairdos don't flatter her AT ALL!! what is it with her and the past? like rainy day also had a 40s theme for... WHAT REASON?? :S

- bad cuts, badly edited. the scene where she suddenly changes into the red costume was craptastic! SO unprofessionally done! and then i think about "dearest" where she had perfect transformations, which were harder to pull off.

- worst ayu acting EVER! she can't dance, she is stiff like a plank. and the opening scene... hysteric much??

- the guys dancing on the street LOLWHUT??

- point of the pv... too little for that amount of money. only thing that is good is the instrumental and the chorus.

i am scared of the "days PV" aggh... more dancing...

but the pv is supposed to be serious..
and no one can take her seriously looking like she is germ freak..
If she used how she walked in appears, or rainbow, it would look better.
I dont expect her to be super actress..
Just..

yeah. ahaha.

I think we are looking to much into this pv.
Maybe its just "some of my dancers might be gay so I support them~"
So its a good message then~

Actually I really love the moment when they reveal her in the white dress with the fans. It was like... *-*
The red dress scene reveal was kind of bad, because lipsyncing was off!!

Okay, I hate the PV and all but... I don't see what's wrong with her walking. Sure, she was probably overacting, but there was some kind of point/attitude she was trying to get across. Walking like in appears or in RAINBOW would kind of like not work for that purpose. @_@

Personally, I thought her walking in the beginning was really cute though. Overdone, but cute~ The only part where I hated her overacting was when she was daydreaming and she looked off in some random direction and it looked all fake and weird.
