Actually, singles were a huge deal until about 1998. "Candle In the Wind" by Elton John sold 11 million copies in the United States, and there are hundreds of physical singles that have sold 1 million+.

In the U.S. - One premiere single is released before the album and then they choose singles afterward and promote those to try and get more people to buy the album.

I think Circus's opening week did much better than Blackout's. =] Hopefully that's a good sign that the overall sales will be better too, but we'll see.

I got my tickets a while ago for the Chicago show. I'm excited to see it but not too thrilled that I have to sit through PCD.

I really hope she doesn't sing My Baby.

The album's good, but I'm not that thrilled with the final tracklist. A lot of the outtakes were better than some tracks that made the album (I'm looking at you, "Mmmm Papi"). I played with it a bit, and came up with my own version:
