The dress looks like it was modified from GUILTY's dress. The performance itself, yes she messed up and her vocals were not good...but I wouldn't say the red team lost all because of ayu...like she was the only reason.

and I agree.... + the white team probably keep winning b/c well this year .... Mr.Children ~~~!! and many female + male listen to male singers..... and old people too~~~ they like male singers more....

o.. and if it wasn't said before her tattoo was covered up b/c KOUHAKU is very oriental....

It got better in the second half and she had lots of energy but still, vocally, this song has just not been performed well on TV. This didn't exactly give me high hopes for the vocals of CDL.

yeah a couple of minor messups but still the fact that she is up there after her injury is big in itself. Go Ayu!

After watching it a few more times, I don't think the performance was that bad, but it wasn't her best either. I think she should have chosen another song to sing.

It's apparent that the white team had a almost a two-to-one advantage because of Ayu's mishap among other reasons. It seems like the power of the red team is becoming weaker and weaker every year since 2005...

Yeah, other reasons than Ayu's bad performance may have affected it. I think the white team has better artists such as Kobukuro, SMAP, TOKIO, and for the first time ever in the Kouhaku, Mr.Children.

Wow, that's weird about her tattoos. I mean actually its not unexpected because tattoos are a no no generally in Japan and Kohaku plays to an audience that would care more about that type of thing. Whats weird is that its not airbrushed over like in the past. Maybe just too rushed for time so they put a bunch of tape over it?

Yeah, we can see the tattoos on the CDL but I don't know why they covered it specifically. We did see them on the Days performances on FNS, Music Station and Best Artist, but I don't know why did NHK requested Ayu's team to cover Ayu's tattoo, all because of appropriateness...

I thought it was a good performance overall. Even though Ayu messed up on the lyrics, I kind of like the little gap before the first chorus.

And I absolutely love that dress!!! That is by far my favorite dress that she's worn during a perfromance of Mirrorcle World.

My only problem is the part where they tore the dress off. It looked really wierd without the big explosion like at a-nation and at the performance where she wore the gold dress.

p.s. I personally didn't find her vocals to be that bad at all! (but that's just me)

Maybe revising this, it might be still one of the worst MW performances all because of lyric mishap, but still not bad enough. I think it was fine; could have been better. Maybe she just rushed a bit too much before the Kouhaku showtime came, including that tattoo cover-up thing...

yet, many ppl were saying about the song chosen to perform @ kouhaku. I think the MW idea was made up by Ayu AND the kouhaku host. as an opening song of the show, the type of song is very important.

Kouhaku representative has mention about they planned something special for Ayu as an opening of the show (I don't know what's so special there. lol), this was days before, while Ayu was still struggling if she was going to perform on stage after the injury.

don't get me wrong, this is not the best performance, once again. but at least better than many other MW lives. (such as HEY!x3 special...)

i'm pretty sure Ayu must have been nervous, we don't even know if her hand was in pain or not - which it seemed like it would have been with her throwing her arms around like that, unless they gave her pain medication or something.

she probably had alot going through her head, but i think she did great.

Ayu's vocals are...yeah.

She needs to find a new way to sing this song because...it's just not working. She's like "under" the notes all the time. I don't know how to explain it. I don't think the lyrics mess up is that bad...her vocals to me are worse. Have they always been this way with this song? I missed all the earlier TV performances so...hmm.

I like her dress though, and her hair is awesome.

And I agree that MW was probably chosen because it was the opening song...a song with big power to get the energy going, yanno. Wasn't she originally supposed to sing Days before it was decided that she was the opening act?

I thought there was sometihng funny about the performance though...at least I know it was because she was singing too fast now. Overall I thought it was a great performance...I loved the costumes, I actually liked her vocals, although the acoustics of it were not good at all I thought. I think she was just covering her tattoo because it may be considered too "radical" for sometihng like Kouhaku.

And to be honest...I'm not surprised that the white team won. Just based on the sales of male artists these days, and the lineup...esp. with Mr. Children...I could've told you beforehand that the white team would probably cream the red team. =\ I think there's a lot of predetermined bias in the voting before the show even starts.
