Ayu calls the friend "Aneki" in the TA message where she talks about hearing that she had died, and "Aneki" was what she called her friend Ayumi Ogata, so most likely, that's who passed away.

I think you're right. I've tried to find the info about who passed away for a while but after you said that, I did a little research and came across her info. Here is the link. It says she was born March 24th, 1976 and it says 1976~2007 in the "GUILTY" booklet.

also, I found a discussion on yahoo japan where someone asked who ayu's aneki that died was. A person that answered, said it was Ogata Ayumi as well and explained who she was to ayu.
