Yes, the PV was aired and it even reached #1 on iTunes Japan.

^Release on iTunes and radio stations (before the US airdate). The album is doing well on iTunes if that eases your minds, currently #1 and CMTM is #2.

Yeah, but no physical single. Which is basically a death sentence for any album released in Japan. I also have to wonder how widespread the promotion was on radio/chaka-uta, because it never even charted on the Billboard Hot 100 Japan or chaka-uta ringtone charts.

^You're actually wrong on the billboard Japan thing. It did chart on the Japanese billboard chart. I believe her peak position on that chart is #38.

This is the week for March 13:

http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/esear...03%2F13%2F2009

You can view her chart history here:

http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/esear...=37+4293103708

Here is the actual chart:

http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/chart...1-50&g=Singles

*I know this is the American Billboard site, but the information from the Japanese site is the same as the American one.

Come back to me is doing well on Reco-choku And I don't really think that it's a disaster they didn't release a physical single considering it's a US album.

my goodness...

why are people being so terca about this?

It's so annoying.
No one is being stubborn about anything. You all are treating the album like a regular Japanese album and it isn't. (I googled terca. )

is that what it translates directly to in english? I didn't know an english word for it.

I don't think "stubborn" fully gets it across though...anyway...

The problem with that is, that no one would come up with reasons why the album isn't selling like a japanese album, if other people wouldn't be like "Oh the album totally sucks, the japanese people hate it, and that's why it isn't selling."

or "for once the sales are proportional to the quality"

How rude is that?

I think possibly some people expected the album to do better in Japan, because her stuff always seems to sell, but with little to no promotion...what are we supposed to expect?

I personally don't care how the album sells in Japan. It's got horrible marketing, down to the cover.

But when people attack the album like above, you can only expect people, especially fans, and ESPECIALLY hikki fans, to get defensive about it.

And then people come in laughing at her? "when divas fall" Seriously, people here have no class. It's just distasteful and rude.

that's exactly the point I was trying to make, so I agree with you

About other things to buy, it doesn't necessarily have to mean low sales for Hikki, since A Best & Distance both sold like 4 million. I know, different era, different setting, but I'm just trying to keep positive thinking!

I personally believe this album would sell better if she has tour for promotion.

That's a good idea

If it does well in the states and Europe (and Japan of course) she could do a world tour! xD;

There's no way she would've ranked higher for the week if she had dropped this album Tuesday; Remioromen and Radwimps both cleared 200k and it's clearly going to take this album more than six days to get close to that number. At the end of the day, sales like this are pretty terrible for her regardless of the circumstances. It really doesn't matter if this isn't doing so hot, it's just a side project. But as drew said, Utada has such ****ing obnoxious stans on this forum that it's funny watching them get their panties in a twist over it.

Hey, if you are mad at peger, discuss with him. You have NO right to make generalizations. Unfortunately he is kind of right. But that is usual; i mean, artists eventually lose some popularity, even huge singers as Madonna or Michael Jackson get to that point... It's(kind of) the norm

Plus, the real deal is supposed to be the Us market, not the japanese one... that would explain the low sales in Japan.
