I am surprised with Utada's sales... speechless tbh... She had higher NINKI but her 1st week sold much less than Ayu's 1st day. Economy really hits hard eh.... All the divas are suffered by it... oh well... at least 200k is at hand already. I am a bit disappointed though. And yes, Avex couldn't choose a much better month to release this one, after all those big diva's either album or single releases. Or probably Avex needs to release them all in same month, to keep things go as it planned?

But the way you said it in your previous post made it sound like she's doing badly or whatever, when the truth is, she's NOT doing badly for NEXT LEVEL's sales, if you consider the factors that Zemus have mentioned.

The world is changing, and you can't expect everything to be the same.

Don't talk about Ayu, I won't even expect a band like ARASHI to sell millions for their album.

Get it? Million-sales are more or less OVER in this era, and it's gonna take a miracle like Namie's best album to break a million.

Well I admit I was hoping for sales to be a lot higher but nothing we can really do about it. I'm glad that she will probably get #1 on weekly and that she finally released new material

I'm happy with Ayu getting the no. 1 spot on the weekly charts. Compared to other artists who have been in the business for this long, she's doing great.

Remember Namie in her 7th-10th year in the business... at one point the "Style" album only sold 200-300,000 copies in Japan. It was only last year that she broke the million sales mark again.

So I think we just have to be patient, the music industry moves in cycles... I'm sure Ayu will have another million-selling album soon.

TOHOSHINKI's from Korea & even if they get the #1 , no big deal about it

there's no more #1 album streak for ayumi to hold so why so worked up over it ?

. ayumi probably doesn't care that much for that anyway now

So what about Namie? She is a "jpop superstar" and she got second, third, and fourth with her previous albums. It was only after Play she started to get #1's again.

that oricon DOESN'T do the index number anymore?

can someone please cite some sort of reference to prove this is ture? otherwise i will not believe and for me this album is selling amazingly and WILL pass 400+ =/

Good! Now all the current divas are flopping [sales-wise] so none us shouldn't even be surprised anymore. Too much expectation can crash and burn in a heartbeat. i know it's unreliable... but when i translated it it only explained how oricon does sales...

when did they start taking away the index?
if it was only this week i highly doubt they did then
especially if the only reason to believe it is that there is no sign saying index next to the sales figure

but w/e, but i didn't hear the announcement for them taking away the sales index lol

if there is no index, i feel so bad for ayu's sales

and i notice now that it means in the first week (although yes, there were multiple versions w/e) Mirrorcle will have sold more than NEXT LEVEL

maybe Days/GREEN too =/ sigh that's what REALLY sucks lol
