Don't get me wrong, I liked her old songs too and her voice back then anyway, but i think it's fine the way it is now. I like them both ^_^
oh I see why you think that..

her voice is indeed very mature!

I just don't like her "watashi no koe GA-A-A-A" if you know what I mean.

I do like the song! just not her vocals. But this is the first song ever I don't like her vocals, so it's just a coincidence

why do we have a topic like this once a year? I mean it wasn't even that long since someone got the same idea when A COMPLETE was released. Please people, stop thinking too much. Who would make an album called NEXT LEVEL, plan the whole tour and not say that it would be the last one?

Could you imagine the shock if she said she is going to retire during her last show date and then sang Curtain call. xD;....

Not at all. Music is her life. She won't quit.

Over-analyzing!
Why do people always have this need to find a meaning to everything?

^ Maybe because they're interested?

Well, I don't think so. Those lyrics are really good for a closing song on the album.

extepan has a point too. And I don't think avex would allow their main source of money to retire just yet.

um... Dearest? JEWEL? rainy day? Close to you? Days (kinda)?

I think those are some right there...

And IMO, there are NO sad songs on NEXT LEVEL...at all.

no, she ain't retiring. i read a interview after A BEST 2 was released, where she said "with the support of my fans i feel like i can make music for another 10 years" or something along these lines.

Have... you read the lyrics to Days? They aren't exactly happy... LOVE 'n' HATE isn't exactly a happy song either

i said a HAPPY love song about staying together. meaning a nice upbeat tempo and what not. not slow and sad sounding.

and there are technically sad songs on NEXT LEVEL but they just don't sound sad.

No, there are not. LOVE 'n' HATE is more about frustration or disappointment. If you want sad, listen to HANABI, HANABI ~episode II~, ever free, Far away, still alone, HAPPY ENDING, A Song for ... etc.

I also do not need to read any ayu lyrics as I am fluent in japanese...maybe you misunderstood something in the lyrics. The PV is sad, but the lyrics are definitely not...
