yeah~

but she did like 3 times during the concert, so she just needs to not pull as far cause she just misses like whole words during that and kinda ruins the mood of the song~

And she has had many incidents of outlandish behavior not just in front of fans obviously.
In the past she's even apologized and discussed these issues. So I know what I'm talking about. Of course not everyone (including you) is going to know about these incidents because Avex does not want her reputation to deteriorate so they dismiss these issues in a timely manner. I stated everyone has their bad moments because I didn't want to make it seem as if I had a vendetta against her. And no she does not lash out all the time, she does it when she's under a lot of pressure like all human beings.
And I had no intention of making her come across as an incessant brat. I adore Namie believe me I do, ALL I WAS SAYING is the video reminded me of what I came across in the past. No need to get all defensive.

Goodness, you say one little thing and people start throwing rocks at you!
Well you have to expect people to question you when you throw all of this "research" and "facts" out without a source. Being on a discussion forum your posts are liable for questioning.

Can you honestly call other people naive when you are probably just quoting probably old tabloid articles? With all due respect, drama seems to follow Ayu wherever she goes and nothing like that is reported about Namie as far as I can see. Granted, I think tabloids blow everything out of proportion. You cannot quote magazine articles that probably come from tabloids and cite them as facts! I would be more convinced by you if you actually cited certain incidents, or if they were really big incidents at all or just something blown out of proportion by the media or a bitter fan.

Namie was taking pictures with her fans as the background so you cannot say that she does not care about them. Saying things like that isn't fair just because Ayumi is a more open person. Some people aren't, but they show their affection in different ways. A lot of people want that kind of approachable and talkative pop star but just because they aren't as talkative as certain others doesn't mean that they don't appreciate their fans just as much. I found it interesting that you spent so much time trying to make Namie out to be a "diva" here when I never read about her showing that kind of behavior.

I have read from many second-hand accounts how polite she is, and Taiwan media just recently said how nice she was compared to other celebrities, when in a restaurant. Media likes to find little things to fault stars for... so for them not to find something with Namie is very telling I think. She comes across as very down-to-earth in interviews and appearances, especially when she is put next to a perfect example of a diva- Mariah Carey. If there's anyone who has a "I'm better than you" attitude, it's her. She was on an episode of Utaban of Namie and treated her like dirt and Namie was just so polite. All of this added up just makes it hard for me to believe such "accounts" of diva-ness. Whatever happened, which was probably in the past, everyone has bad days- that doesn't make them divas. And if she apologized for whatever she did, then why even bring it up? Being a demanding, high-maintenance, snobby beish just because you are a star makes you a diva, and Namie is certainly the opposite of a diva from what I see and hear of her from a multitude of persons. I think many people need to understand this huge difference instead of just throwing the word around because I think it really gives the wrong idea.

sorry for the tldr; post- just had to give my two cents here.

Maybe it's just me, but I always thought her stages were so small compared to Ayu's and Kuu's... I haven't seen all of her tours though.

2003-2005 and Play tour 2007 was HALL tour while Ayu is Arena tour.

It actually looked bigger from what I saw but I think it's because I felt if they had enough space to put all those curtains up, the stage must be bigger. But I didn't see it in person like you did, was it really that small looking?

Yeah it looked like she was in a hall rather than an arena... Maybe now she'll get an arena tour? Her popularity definitely got a much deserved boost. To be honest, I thought this tour was going to be an arena tour.

I like arena tours. It's nice to look at big concert venues and dream "one day I'll be there..."

And I need to say this. I don't understand at all what's this thing about Namie being a diva. I haven't seen so many concerts I can say anything but I don't believe in anything what media mostly says. They just want a lot money and because of this they make all the popular celebrities look like idiots all the time.

I will admit that I've too have heard rumors of Namie behaving like a diva in the past after her mother passed but I quickly dismissed them. Even if she conducted that behavior who are we to say anything? She seems like a sweet girl and she is very down to earth.

And I think everyone misread tomiko8's comments. She was not condoning Namie's behavior, she was implying the video reminded her of all the rumors she heard. Which is understandable. Aside from that I'm looking forward to the unveiling of her concert tour. I hope it was better than her Play tour, I was not too fond of it.

She did it occasionally in the past like 03 I remember a bit. But in concert she tends to keep the mic right on her lips the whole time and sometimes her voice comes over extremely loud live in concert (to the point of being painful sometimes.)

That's why I appreciate Namie pulling the mic away although as mentioned, sometimes she pulls too far. It would be nice if she could master the technique better but I'm sure its difficult since there is no way on stage that she would be able to hear whether she pulled it too far or not.

She could have done an arena tour for Play if she wanted to.(That tour was long enough to have filled up several arenas several times over) She could have done an arena tour for her 03/04 tour too and her 2005 tour too. There are actually a lot of artists that prefer hall tours over arena tours because it puts them closer to the audience and it feels more intimate - whereas arenas are more for putting on a spectacle but you are further from the audience.

As for Namie being a "DIVA". I don't believe that at all. As I'd probably mentioned before, I've heard first hand accounts from people that live in the same area as her. They've said its not uncommon to see her doing her own shopping at the grocery store, in the park etc etc w/out makeup, without bodyguards, no enterouge, none of that. That's not really how a diva behaves.
