"SEIKO MATSUDA CONCERT TOUR 2009 My Precious Songs" pictures (LQ) from Saitama Super Arena a month ago:
![]() It's about time I found some pictures. The red-white dress is cute. Here is the full romanized (only posted it in Japanese before) concert schedule, as you can read there's only one concert to go: 2009.06.14 @ Saitama Super Arena 2009.06.18 @ Kagoshima Hall 2009.06.19 @ Kagoshima Hall 2009.06.27 @ Nagoya Rainbow Hall 2009.06.28 @ Nagoya Rainbow Hall 2009.07.04 @ Osaka-Jo Hall 2009.07.05 @ Osaka-Jo Hall 2009.07.10 @ Nippon Budokan 2009.07.11 @ Nippon Budokan 2009.07.12 @ Nippon Budokan 2009.07.19 @ Sendai Sun Plaza Hall 2009.08.01 @ Marine Messe Fukuoka ・・・・・・・・ Wanted to mention one thing that got my attention. I'm currently watching "Sukeban Deka", a Japanese drama series that aired in 1985. The interesting part is that several of the school girls in it have the so called Seiko cut as their hairstyle. Many must've been inspired by her. With Seiko cut I refer to the hair that Seiko had in 1981. If you still don't know what I am referring to then take a look at the collection of pictures of Seiko below, age is 19 and 20. Then compare those with with the still captures from the drama series that I posted in the spoiler. There are some similarities there, don't you think? Spoiler:
![]() Do you need a link? http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DQ5D2AMN I really hope they are planning a single for this fall at least. She should release something new considering that she switched record label last month, and 30th Anniversary is almost here!

It's great that they chose to show "Marrakech" for the Citron album. I love that song so much!

^ You are welcome.
![]() NHK BS2 will re-broadcast a "Let's Go Young" episode from 1982/07/04 tomorrow at 18:00~18:47 JST. Seiko performed "Nagisa no Balcony" and "Shiroi Parasol". Other guests were Masahiko Kondo, Chiemi Hori and Masayuki Kishi. It's really unfortunate that I can't watch it. ![]() Quote:

Rock'n Rouge #1
Remember, one month ago I reported that Seiko's "天国のキッス" (Tengoku no Kiss) reached first position on most requested 1983 song on the HEY!x3 music TV program. They are having this mei-kyoku section where they show clips of old classic (1970-1995) music. Each episode they have a different year, and they ask their viewers to send in their picks/votes for songs. Yesterday (2009/07/27) it was about 1984 and here is the Top 10 (romanized by me):
![]() With that Seiko gets another #1 on HEY!x3. This just proves that she was famous and still is today. They showed a clip from one of her "Yoru no Hit Studio" Rock'n Rouge performances.

HEY!HEY!HEY! 2009.07.27
^ Exactly!
Anyway, I have watched it now. The 2009/07/27 HEY!x3 episode. Added the some "Rock'n Rouge" performance captures above. The year of 1984 wasn't the only theme they had in that episode. They also showed music from Japanese movies/films. "野菊の墓" (Nogiku no Haka) from 1981 made it to the program, it's a movie starring Seiko. The movie theme song is "花一色~野菊のささやき~", a song by Seiko, the b-side of the "白いパラソル" (Shiroi Parasol) single. The movie is very beautiful but sad, if you ever get a chance to watch then I recommend you to do so. Here are some captures from the HEY!x3 episode:![]() Performance above is VTR from Yoru no Hit. Second and third captures are from the movie. Exact airdate for the performance is unknown. ・・・・・・・・ EDIT:: HEY!x3 2009/07/27 video: Last edited by Zemus; 3rd August 2009 at 08:20 PM. COUNT DOWN LIVE PARTY 2009-2010
Quote:
There goes my secret hope of her appearing on the 60th Kouhaku Uta Gassen. She has turned down invitations for that event since 2002. She has no time when the CDLP always occur during the same evening. By the way, it is probably going to be very slow on news from on because the Concert Tour 2009 ended the other day, and I'm not expecting any new music announcements quite yet. A new single this year is a must, though. It would be the first time ever in her career if she didn't release one. EDIT: I think she mentioned during the MC of the final concert at Fukuoka the other day that she will start working on new music after this. Not 100% sure. Let's hope it is true.

HEY!HEY!HEY! 2009.08.03
Here is a video from today's HEY!x3 episode in HQ:
VTR of 夏の扉 (Natsu no Tobira) on Yoru no Hit Studio 1981/05/11 and 裸足の季節 (Hadashi no Kisetsu) on The Star SP 1983/04/23. Isn't that "Natsu no Tobira" performance lovely, the yellow dress is very cute. "Hadashi no Kisetsu" is her debut song, although that performance showed took place several years later.

Premium Diamond Bible
Seems like I'm mostly talking to myself in this thread. Now four posts in a row. Let's try to get some discussion in here?
![]() SONY finally published the tracklist for the upcoming best album, or box actually. It will include a total of 89 tracks. It is quite an expensive box. That didn't stop me from pre-ordering it in the end of June though, and I've promised to rip and upload my copy here to AHS when it arrives. It is a great collection to own, and perfect if you are new to her music. Down side is that they haven't included any songs from the Universal record label (1996-2001) era. However, that is fully understandable. Will edit this post with further information later. That's still amazing that she's able to chart all those 20+ year old albums in the top 30, 40 and 50.
What is so special about this new box collection? It seems like she has so many of them X_X |

It seems she dropped out of the Top 30 from 08/06 and forward. I don't have access to the Top 50 so I can't check if she still is in there. It saddens me that the "Citron" album didn't make the Top 50.

I see it as an opportunity for SONY to milk some money before she leaves. 30th Anniversary should be good for marketing. It's not exactly common for a female idol to stay in the business for that long. Fellow rivals from the 1980s Akina Nakamori and Kyoko Koizumi are about to reach that milestone in a couple of years, too. I still don't understand why SONY chose to promote her 30th Anniversary this early. Seiko's debut single released 1980/04/01 and album 1980/08/01. However, it might be that they consider the date 1979/06/30 the real deal. That was when she signed up with Sun Music. ![]() It surprised me that they included ベルベット・フラワー (Velvet Flower) to the tracklist but not Angel Tears. |

It's only about $107, which is not bad for 80+ tracks on 5 CDs. Too bad it doesn't come with a big photobook or something

ORICON record

If I have understood that article correctly, then she set a new ORICON record for a female artists by having 13 albums simultaneously ranked inside the weekly Top 100. Congratulations to Seiko-chan. Good start for the approaching 30th Anniversary year. |
