Recommend me some music?

I'm not too fussy about genre or language.
I'd like to hear from bands/singers that have really energetic songs.

I don't like idol groups that have more than 2 (fe)male singers.
If they're a band, I'd prefer them to be the type that play instruments rather than all being singers.

Also, I'd prefer if it they have good lyrics. But I don't mind Engrish as long as it's not cringe-worthy. LOL

With genres I'll listen to (almost) anything. But at the minute I'm in a really poppy, dance music mood.

Thanks in advance!

Well....they ARE a 3 person group but I wouldn't say they're an idol group...um Perfume? Check em out. A majority of their songs are very dance-y and energetic. I'd recommend Dream Fighter and Polyrhythm...Chocolate Disco....but Perfume is kinda...not everyone can get into it. I understand if people hate them completely. They do sound fake and techno-y which might not mesh with everyone's taste.

I'll listen to those songs you recommended, I listened to a Perfume song a while ago and I really liked it. :]

I don't know if they would be considered an idol group, as they are Johnny's, but ARASHI. If you want rcok, try KAT-TUN. And Perfume's good too.

Aaah. That's a problem.

Maybe Muse. You live in the UK, so you know what they're like. They're releasing a new album in a few days.

Muse's awesome . I love Blackholes & Relevations & frontman Matthew's hot

anyway zyoeru , since you already specified that you don't want people to recommend Johnny's material (dammit no chance to brainwash on this xD) , I recommend a lot of great jrock stuff since rock's my fave music genre & I tend to listen to a lot of it if I'm not having a Johnny's moment or 2

you can check out these great jrock bands other than UVERworld

- abingdon boys school (they're 1 of the 1st few J artistes I started to listen to of them since I began my jpop music journey 3 years ago & they're still 1 of my fave groups up to now & they have put out 3 singles this year & I want a 2nd album soon)

- BREAKERZ (just like KAT-TUN , I'm a BREAKERZ stan all the way ! By a stroke of luck or 2 , I was watching MTV Taiwan & their 1st PV of their debut single SUMMER PARTY / LAST EMOTION was aired non stop & the rest's history)

- flumpool (I dare you to listen to Hana ni Nare & not get hooked onto the song on 1st listen & their mini album Unreal's great)

- GLAY (I'm not that familiar with their older works since they have been around for 15 years but their latest single I am xxx is kick ass)

- L'arc~en~ciel (ditto just like GLAY but you can try their latest album KISS which's a great listen & NEXUS 4/SHINE is solid)

- B'z (ah I just discovered recently how f-king awesome they're . Ichibu to Zenbu / DIVE really coverted me to their fan within an instant)

- SID (1 of my current fave bands , it's SID SID SID . Their new album hikari's really cool from the start to the beginning & Uso is beautiful )

I can recommend somemore cool stuff . If you need extra , just let me know about it

Nana Mizuki (pop, does many different genres, for dancy electric stuff try running a search for still in the groove, discotheque or gimmick game on youtube)
HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR (ranges from pop to hardrock, one female singer, one male singer/screamer/growler/rapper/talker xD, 2 guitarists, bassist and drummer, so its a real band xD they did 4 albums with sony and one, their latest with a minor label, you can find it on this forum(they actually just started with a new female singer with their fifth album and became much harder)

Seconding everything on this list. Try perfume too, and everyone in the Nakata family.

female solo wise , if you want something unusual ie. dark classical meets goth , then Kanon Wakeshima's someone you should listen & look out for .

Her debut album Shinshoku Dolce was released this year in Feb . She wrote the whole album & the album's composed by Mana who's her mentor

I also like Kuroki Meisa too whom I love to dub her as Sister Angela (watch One Pound Gospel & you know what I mean) . Her debut mini album hellcat's to me the most surprising debut album of 2009 , mini album wise & her debut single SHOCK -Unmei- is neat

Tohoshinki. I can't recommend anything cos they're too good, but you might wanna try with The Secret Code... One of my fav. songs from them and performance is here:

Watch all of Tohoshinki's PVs here!:

Hata Motohiro, he's cute, adorable and has a fantastic voice... his songs are very laid back... and some are kinda bluesy lol. You can watch all his PVs here:

奥田美和子 (Okuda Miwako). I uploaded her two albums in my request thread. She does soft rock, and her lyrics are very beautiful, but it's her voice that gets me. She sings with such emotion and passion.

My favourite song, "Yume".
