OMG.. even tho the hair is different than the one on the booklet, it does give me a First Love's hikki feeling. And I really want her to grow her hair this time, after seeing her having short hair for like 3 yrs.

Made me laugh! ![]() I don't like 'em. ![]() And I'm not talking about Utada's flabby sassafrass jeans. (Seriously, she must have gotten back to Japan and forgot she lost all that weight in America. Those pants must GO! (Like Her American Career)) I have some theories on Utada's long hiatus. 1. She figured it was time for another one of her obligatory super long breaks after the sales of "This Is The One" so that her next release will blow up again in sales. 2. She's waiting for her hair to grow out fully so that her image is all set for when she re-emerges to promote her new music. Because if you ask me, Utada already has some songs ready to put out there. Meaning she has songs that are already written, with tracks produced and arranged already, or even already sung and recorded and ready to ship out with her sitting back just waiting for the right time. Whether the right time is when she has waited so long, fans are just starving and willing to eat up whatever she puts out, even non fans who'll just buy her stuff because they feel they're suppose to or when her image is complete again or whatever other reason. I know I've said I'm use to and fully acquainted with Utada's long absences and I've even shunned some members who have whined too loudly, but I'm about to become a hypocrite. Full Fledged Hypocrite. Watch me.

Well Utada did have "Teiku 5" ready for "ULTRA BLUE", but waited until "HEART STATION" to get the lyrics right so it's possible she has some songs that she made for "HEART STATION" that she never released or for any of her other Albums.
If that's the case, there better be a good reason because "HEART STATION" could have used some more NEW tracks.

So yesterday I was watching tv and I heard Hikki's Sanctuary play in a Kingdom of Hearts commercial. It took me like 5 minutes for it to sink in and then i was "HOLY CRAP I JUST HEARD UTADA IN A AMERICAN COMMERCIAL!".

^Yeah! It's for the new "Kingdom Hearts" DS Game. I haven't seen it yet, but I really want to for nostalgia purposes going back to when the "Kingdom Hearts II" Commercial was airing. I'd just stop and drop everything and gaze in a trance at the commercial, more for the song than for the visuals, but it was great. What channel did you have it on?

Here's a link to Utada's MSN Interview concerning her "HEART STATION" Album. It just may be my favorite Interview of hers that she did for "HEART STATION." Not only does it touch on the whole "Teiku 5" thing, but also the connection between "Fight The Blues" and "BLUE" as speculated earlier in this thread and "Celebration" being the song with the temporary title, "Yakekuso" if people are still confused about that. Beneath the interview is another MSN Interview just about her Single "HEART STATION/Stay Gold." Enjoy. MSN Interview - "HEART STATION" Also, this is completely separate, but here's a snippet from a fan's review on Utada that I really liked: "Tracks that stimulate not only the ears, but all the senses and one's psyche are what make Utada Hikaru stand out from other big-name J-pop artists: she has the ability to conjure up great sales and legitimate credibility because of her unmatched music prowess (she does, after all, sing, write, and produce all of her songs on her own using her own tools). When it comes to true artists with such mainstream ubiquity, Utada Hikaru is unmatched. Ayumi Hamasaki, Namie Amuro, and Kumi Koda may have their own respective strengths as the other female high priestesses in the J-pop game, but not one of them have displayed as much sophistication and utterly pure talent as Utada has all these years. That being said, Utada's more experimental pop leanings may come dangerously close to becoming lounge music or too ambient for consumption (probably inching towards new age-y stuff), but thankfully she's still got some pop chops in her to remain savvy with what the people want. She does, after all, continue to garner big sales numbers (something that can't be stressed enough - she's always one of the highest-selling, if not, the highest-selling female J-pop artist in every calendar year her albums come out): a testament to her ability to find something that connects with the masses. This fact only shows that no one has it better than her in J-pop and in world-wide pop music in general: she's at the point of her growth as an artist that she can do whatever the hell she wants, but still get away with it with flying colors. Many artists from all over the world would definitely want to be in her shoes. What more, she garners all this critical acclaim with such modesty: a bonus in pleasing the Japanese tradition of grace, subtlety, and peacefulness when conducting your manner in public. The only bad thing Utada can do at this point is to abruptly stop making music. Only then will she truly be betraying such an adoring and well-deserved audience. Japan will always be open ears to its most regal of pop princesses."

Well... before choosing the final nominees, the critics that vote for the Grammys makes a list of possible nominees (and the final ones are taken from this list). I know she will never win the prize or even make it into the final nominees, but Utada appears on the list sometimes...^^
