^Absolutely. I don't think you sound like an ******* at all for saying that. It seems like she is more inspired to write more meaningful songs when she's feeling down, sad, lonely.

^that is totally true... her "sad lyrics" were the base of everything since she started... her lyrics used to talk about how lonely she felt back then when she released A Song for XX, etc. that really caught the attention. sad lyrics are always easier to feel than just happy rainbow ones... bcose we are all human beings and we all experience the same sad things.

What I want, is a super sad, dark ballad. And I don't mind if the other songs on the single (though I doubt that will be the case with the ~for TA~ track) will have that same taste

As to why people always seems to think artists make better music, when they're depressed or lonely...maybe that has something to do with us, what we want to "find" in the music that we listen to. I think we want to hear music that reflects upon our own personal problems, what we can identify. If it is happier music, we pay less attention to the lyrics, and don't give it the same greatness in value, because it then means less to us if it is not about our own problems. Just a thought.
