It's the unfairness of Johnnys, I've been ranting about for months now. TTUN are just decoration, backup dancers or singers...whatever you want to call them for KA. Because KA bring in the fans. I really wonder sometimes what would've happened if Jin wouldn't have returned from America. They all say "they decided together" that he could return to his idol career, but honestly I think they just had to accept him back because without him the fans are cutdown by at least a third. I also think that nobody but Jin could've pulled that stunt (maybe Kame) the career of any other member in would have been over after that. (in JE at least)

that's the thing , I feel really sorry for T-TUN again as they also are talented & CAN sing

I wonder how will they feel in being 2nd fiddle mode . You might as well renamed the group as Akame & co. if this keeps up

^ As you! That's why I could never recognize them as a group (beyond the number of member ...). They are so "away". It's bad for the rest of the member, because Koki, Ueda, Yuichi and Juno deserves as and maybe much more than Jin, I think :/. Stupide Jimusho!

look, i'm just being realistic here, but not all Johnny's groups are going to be SMAP (or Arashi now) where all of Japan are going to know all the members right off. it takes time. heck, no one knew who Arashi was like...3 years ago until HYD started up their fame. i remember when their sales barely reached 150k. or when people did not know any members other than MatsuJun.

even though KAT-TUN has been a solid unit since 2001, they've only had their debut in 2006! they're still "new". sure, Akame has had more exposure, but it was really in 2005 where people started paying attention to the group as well. and its going to take more time for T-TUN to gain the same attention as KA.

& while the Jimusho pushes KA far more, i'm sure they will capitalize on T-TUN when the time comes, just like Arashi. and they are starting to do that (albeit, slowly). i mean, i was pretty surprised when Nakamaru got the lead in "RESCUE" or when Ueda was the first to announce solo concerts.

tbqh, NEWS has it worse. honestly, who else is in NEWS other than YamaPi? JE actually let him release a solo single. a LEGIT solo single as "Yamashita Tomohisa" when he's in a group that is new and needs MORE attention than KT.

*startrant* Of course, they get their solo-work, too. And it's going to be like this probably - that as time goes by they get more attention (You're right....a few years ago, Arashi also was recognized for MatsuJun mainly with Nino and Sho coming somewhere second and nobody cared about Aiba and Ohno) But why keep doing this with the solo songs? It must hurt TTUN AND be bad for group dynamics. I was never a fan of NEWS, but the overeexposure of Yamapi is really something that unnerves me, too. (I don't like any NEWS member except maybe to a short extend Massu and I don't like their music) I mean, of course they cannot all be in the spotlight all the time. But if this keeps continuing you could, like Karen said, rename them to Akame & Co for real. And I like their voices - they CAN sing. They all should get solo songs, not just two of them. If it was only Kame, then it would also be ok, because it's for his drama and so. Then it's understandable. But I don't understand Jin's solo song, when he just even released an Album. Well, I understand why it's happening, I just don't think it's fair. *endrant*

Akanishi will assumingly be singing A Page at his upcoming solo concert You & Jin

while for Kame's new one , I think it's because of demands from his fans which eventually let Johnny's to decide that it deserves to get the studio treatment & I'm not going to lie that it's a great song . I really like it when he did it live at last year's summer tour of theirs & it's so sweet/lovely

so yeah I think what J-One Records's doing is that just so happen both of them are having some sorta solo/drama activities up & running , they wanted to do this

I'm not going to deny that this's 1 move that people will like or don't like but it's the way the music business works sometimes T_T

i just DLed "Olympos"! i'll give thoughts later. BUT I AM SO EXCITED, lol.
& oh! i can't wait for Kame on Hanamaru Cafe. i love that show!

& YamaNade starts this Friday!

オリンポス - IT IS SPELLED OLYMPUS IRL. IDGAF. lol, anyway. i reallllly love the instrumentals in this song. it's an awesome blend of the 90s, along with some like what era do i call it...Woodstock-ish, LMFAO. idk. but i'm reminded by The Doors or something by that introduction. sorry, i am awful with dates as long with my music eras. >_>;; but it's a very awesome song. not the best on the album, imho, but great.

元気 ska version - I LOVE THIS. when that intro blasted, i was like, "HELL YES! SKA!" i'm a huge fan of No Doubt and their ska sound in the 90s, so this is an immediate winner in my book. i guess as a child of the 90s, anything related to the music of the era makes me all...fangirly. lol. i think i prefer this version of "Genki" over the perfect issue version that is later in the album.

二十歳の戦争 - hands down, best song on the album. the music, the arrangement, Jin's soft vocals. perfect. i just love the intro. but tbh, all the songs seem to have stellar introductions, haha. the fact that it is the longest track on the album at 6mins doesn't bother me either.

勇気 - YUUUKI, YUUUUUUUKI~ (aka my favorite parts of the song, aha). i think at this point, it's my 2nd favorite song on the album. i can't really point out why, but i just love it. it's very pleasant on the ears and the background music is very layered and the band itself shines in this song too.

鼓動 - i think "Kodou" stands as the most serious-sounding song after "二十歳の戦争". i love the guitar in the song, as well as the break. it's not my favorite, but at no means bad. tbh, i don't think any song on this album is bad.

BANDAGE - i still love BANDAGE. it's the lead & only single off the album and it provided a great introduction to the overall feel of "Olympos" itself. the introduction, like most songs off the album, is top-notch and memorable.

二十歳の戦争 -Y's edition- - this is probably the only like...weird song off the album. imo, it kinda functions as an interlude (even if its 3mins, LOL). Jin's vocals have been distorted to have a dream-like feel to it and it differs A LOT from the original version earlier in the album.

元気 perfect issue - ahhhh, it's so different from the "ska version" it's kinda crazy. it's definitely the most positive atmosphere (well...it is called "Genki" for a reason, i guess. LOL). this really sounds like something you will find in a Mr.Children album, imo! i can imagine Sakurai singing this. but i just prefer the "ska version".

サンキュー - like "Genki perfect issue" it's very positive, upbeat versus the 1st part of the album. i think i like "Genki perfect issue" more though. LOL. BUT WATCH OUT FOR THE BONUS TRACK. it's short, but i think it's appropriate! very "LANDS" like.

i personally think this album is amazing. it's music you just don't find in Johnny's Entertainment and that's what makes it, well, golden. and i just don't find any other Johnny other than Jin providing the vocals for this. oh...maybe Domoto Tsuyoshi. you also have to give major props to Kobayashi Takeshi. i hope he works for Jin (or KAT-TUN) in the future again!

i want to watch the movie too. perhaps the context of the songs will be much clearer! but too bad it won't float on the internet until like...the DVD rip. DAMN. XD

as expected , Hatachi no Sensou is & I knew it that I was going to like it from the preview that I heard on the BANDAGE ad

I haven't listen to the other songs yet . The 1st 2 songs are very ska influenced which surprised me

I mean Ska influences in such a Johnny's album is quite unusual but I think Akanishi handled it pretty well & yeah BANDAGE's probably no doubt the best track on the EP followed by Hatachi no Sensou

Hatachi no Sensou -Y's edition- & Genki perfect issue should have been scrapped out since they're basically 'remixes' & I find them un-necessary to be on Olympos

i'm pretty sure "Genki perfect issue" is the "Original Version" of the song. "Genki" got re-named to "Genki perfect issue" when "Hatachi no Sensou -Y's edition-" got added on to the tracklist. "Genki ska version" is the "remix" LOL.

i like both versions of Genki (ska>perfect issue, imho tho ). they're almost like 2 different songs, actually. but yeah, the original version is "perfect issue", not the "ska version".
