They just look sooo hilarious dressed like that! For Ayu, that's really really really good payback hehehe. Even if its just for laughs, I always do wonder what possesses them to dress like that lol

Well, GoMI has been known to do that, but always to cheer everyone up and make them laugh during stressful work days. It makes me really appreciate a person with a character like that.

And yes, she wrote it. I think oji-i-san translated it as bull****? But since Japanese has only a couple of vulgarities to match to the scores available in English vocabulary, I leave you to insert your own.
Ah, this is an interesting point. hmm...

Firstly, I think it's true that Japanese has few swearwords.
Typical ones are くそっ and ちくしょう (ちきしょぉー!), which ayu used here.
Both of them can be used in a same situation to damn that situation (or a person or anything you dislike at that moment).
And as you can guess from the fact that Japanese has few swearwords, I guess both of them are "weak".

Secondly, because ayu made up these lines (Let go!/(damn!, s**t!, or whatever)/I'll be a bad girl!) afterwards just for this blog to make this post funny, I don't know how often ayu uses くそ or ちくしょう in her real life. I didn't think deeply when I translated this line because I felt it's just funny.

So, why did I choose bulls**t?
The original meaning of ちくしょう is animal, cattle, beast, etc, and くそ is s**t. And I think the usage of ちくしょう and くそ is almost same. Having thought that, I picked up bulls**t because bull is an animal and the word includes s**t as well. haha, that's it but what a long comment!

Thanks for the translation as always, Misa-chan.
Let me tell you my suggestions when I have time!

But it's not "zaki". It's "saki", you know.
It used to be Hamazaki, for like 3 seconds in her idol days - Kurumi Hamazaki.

As taught by "dear mother" GoMi, I took on the spirit of Yamato Nadeshiko's*1 elegant female ghost.
I think she's talking about Sunako Nakahara from Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi henge (The Wallflower / Perfect Girl Evolution) ^^a

hamasaki ayumi is her legal name, hamasaki ayumi is her stage name.
濱崎歩 is her legal birth name, since most (if not all) natural born japanese have their full name in kanji. 浜崎あゆみ is her stage name used for herself as an artist, etc.

As for the zaki, saki debate..
The last name is actually pronounced hama-SAKI OR hama-ZAKI?, that is according to google translation with 濱崎 as is the same case using 浜崎... where people get hamazaki from? maybe a typo or the same character's used in her name -- which is the case. Also this character 崎 by its self means Qi in japanese (accoriding to google; I have no idea how accurate this even is -- but its entertaining), while this character 浜 means Beach; Seashore in Japanese. This character 歩 means Step;Stride;Pawn in Japanese.

now that I think about it.. the correct answer is both are right.. as far as pronounciation goes and spelling go?. also you have to take in to account that there are different dialects, et. Ayu however said in the blog that is was Saki, which might be a prefferance? I don't know..

Hamasaki はまさき --> 浜崎 --> 濱崎
Hamazaki はまざき --> 濱崎 --> 浜崎
Ayumi あゆみ --> 歩み --> 歩 --> 歩美

In Chinese this character 歩 means Walk; which more or less is the same word for Step/Stride.
In Chinese this character 浜 means Bang; which could reffer to a loud noise.
In Chinese this character 崎 means Mountainous.
In Chinese the character 濱 means Bin.

So in conclusion Ayu's stage name means....
To Step across the Beach with Energy*?

* Qi can be another word for energy...

I don't know that that is just my theory on the subject, all of this reffereing to the HamaZaki which appears on the picture with the directors "action" block thing? Also If I am way off, let me know... I am hopin not to be criticized because I don't know japanese nor how any of the rules work, etc.. again this is just a theory.. (and I don't think its off topic)

^I don't think this issue should be discussed in this thread (the meaning, correct kanji whatever about ayu's name)... but well, the correct kanji, or at least the official for hamasaki is: 浜崎, we don't know how they wrote her name when she was born, but I know only in Chinese they use the kanji 歩 for ayumi, but they say: bin chi bu (pin qi pu, not sure, sth like this, that's why you got Qi for 崎, Qi doesn't exist in japanese, only in chinese, and it's pronunced Chi I think ) Anyway.. the kanji thing is difficult, it can be read in a diferent way depending on which word it is, it's not always the same (kunyomi and onyomi...)... Koda kumi, the kanji for DA 田 in some words is TA but in her name it's pronunced DA, and in other words DEN.

the thing in that pic is not that difficult... the name of the cameraman written on it is english.. there were english staff there, so most probably a english person wrote it and when they said to that person her name he/she probably listened Zaki instead of Saki... that's all... it's only a mistake...
