On June 7, 2008, during the 2008 "Dream Concert", a silent protest was held against Girls' Generation by various fanclubs, notably E.L.F. (Super Junior), Cassiopeia (TVXQ), and Triple S (SS501) by turning off their glowsticks and remaining silent during the performance

About the Dream Concert silent treatment... SNSD were highly hated by many many Korean netizens (even before they debuted). Why? For stupid reasons like jealousy. Of course SuJu and DBSK fans hate them because they are close with them. And they say Tiffany is a showoff because she's fluent in English. Let's just say that there was a time where every little thing they did and their mistakes were highly criticized. But don't worry about it. SNSD are stronger now. They also gained a lot of fans with "Gee". SNSD rocked the Dream Concert the following year! People were cheering for SNSD like crazy!
