I've downloaded the album and will try listening to it a few more times to see if it adjusts with me. However, even if it does I'd still say its her worst one yet. Until now, the only song of hers I've completely disliked is "Get Mine Get Yours". Mostly for the lyrics, but I guess we'll see what happens after I listen to Bionic a bunch of times.

I've listened to the album and I really LOVE I Am and Vanity. Desnudate is cool, too, but I don't like that most of the songs on this album are about sex :/

^Yeah, i think she over did it there. I know sex is an international subject for obvious reasons, but it was a little over the top.

Bionic is a great album!
So far I totally love 7 songs (Bionic, I Hate Boys, Not Myself Tonight, Woohoo, Elastic Love, Desnudate and Prima Donna). Vanity, You Lost Me, My Girls and Glam are also very nice. I'm satisfied, but also excited about the songs from the Deluxe version and the bonus ones. Can't wait!

I actually quite like this album. The songs are hot, tbh, they go with her image to me. I'm glad NMT was the single instead of Glam like it was originally reported, since Glam is one of the weakest tracks

The album is pretty bad from what I've heard of the leak
Most of the songs sound too similar or are just plain boring. I'm sad that Christina is back to using sex sells as her main marketing promo. Also, she has such a strong voice, but she has forgotten how to use it I guess.WooHoo is probably the best song off the album for me. |

Christina Aguilera has always been about sex. Genie in a Bottle? She ain't singing about Disney. Candyman? Yeah, she just wants some jellybeans and gummi bears. Come on, people.
The important difference between Christina Aguilera and all the other overly sexed-up pop tarts out there is that Christina is an artist in charge and in control of her sexuality and is unafraid to use this sexuality as a means for empowerment and artistic expression. Compare and contrast with Britney Spears, et al, who look like they're forced to be sexual and are thus only exploited in this manner by their record companies for maximum profits. Christina Aguilera OWNS her sexuality. The rest are owned by theirs. And that's why Christina Aguilera is the true heir apparent to Madonna. Not Britney Spears. Or Lady Gaga, for that matter. |

True, but she went through phases where she didn't flash it in your face (like she does with NMT.)
She did it in a more subtle, innocent way with Genie. Dirrty, she went all out with the trashy look. Then she went more mature and classy with her image, while maintaining her sexuality without dipping into that side too much. Now, she's back to "oo, look, revealing, I'm kissing girls, I'm in leather bondage outfits." for the record, Stripped is my fave Christina album. I just wanted something more from her, either my expectations were too high or she set the bar too low. Is Bionic really the best of Christina's career? Like I said, I don't mind in your face sexuality so long as I know the artist knows what she is doing. Some artists just come across as dumb bimbos who have no idea about the politics of sex. Christina Aguilera is not one of those artists. By the way, the Not Myself Tonight video is only referencing Madonna's video work. I think it's more about Christina's musical ambitions rather than just a "oh look at me, sex, sex, sex" type of thing. Last edited by Uemarasan; 25th May 2010 at 11:37 PM. |

I only really like the ballads in the album. Her voice works with them, but her oversinging in songs that are supposed to just be catchy pop songs doesn't really work and makes things awkward. Her lyrics need a lot of work, there are other things to sing about other than sex. The song about her son was nice and different.

I was listening to Vanity and I couldn't stop laughing when she said: "And now I take myself to be my lawfully wedded ********" LOLLLLLLL

The extra tracks that appear on the German version of Bionic: "Add Mar, Uram Az Esöt!" and "Jungle Juice" are actually the samples that are used in Woohoo and I Hate Boys.
