Oh please, remixing takes so much longer than that. Some remixes take days to do. Just as long as it would to make a regular song. Remember, they're given the vocal track, and an empty slate to work with. They have to start from the very beginning just like a regular artist would when it comes to making a song. I hated her early singles that had way too many really crappy remixes. Even though she doesn't like remixes, I think she does it for the fans. Someone is bound to like them. And besides, if every single she ever had consisted of the main song, and an instrumental, and nothing else, that wouldn't be much of a single at all. :/

I like the way the singles are now cuz I actually like the one to three remixes as opposed to liking one out of a bunch.
The old singles was just so much. I always only like one remix. But at least these they get it right with the few remixes they have imo so I don't mind ^___^

I would love a blossom remix on this single. That would be fantastic. And a crossroad remix.

I am afraid that cannot be the case because one of the Dj who remix Free&Easy died.

i hope the japanese audience doesn't feel that way? If so getting an ayu single to sell means the song has to be good to them lol and we definitely aren't sure even yet what the japanese public does or doesn't like, if only just a vague idea '-___-
I'm not sure how the Japanese spend their money casually on releases, but I'm pretty sure they're use to the prices. Plus I think more casual fans download online, no? That's why Sunrise and Days got such high sales?

Well she already performed new songs before their release once this year... I would be so upset if we had to wait until December for all of them though.

Well I just wanna say, first, that it takes the composer/arranger more than a few days to make a song from beginning to end, they can work for weeks and sometimes months on just one song. And (for the most part) more effort goes into the original music for the song because a remix can just be the same pulsing beat for 10 min with a breathing sample taken from the song repeating over and over.

Well the old singles had remixes because club remix music was popular when those singles were released (just generally around the world). But I guess it fell out fashion; either that or maybe Oricon enacted a time rule for single releases like in UK. Plus I think avex comissioned all those remixes so they'd have something to play in that club they used to own.

Personally I prefer the way singles are. With like a main track or 2 a then a remix or w/e then the instrumental because then it's about quality than quanity with the single tracks.

I didn't really get into the singles until recently so I'd never experienced these huge amounts of remixes before. Then recently I got the M single and was totally surprised by the amount of remixes on it. I have to agree, though, that it's nicer to get a few, good quality remixes + instr. than a bunch of remixes you're going to skip through on your playlist anyway. >.>;

You can only listen to a song so many times, so having that many remixes is almost overwhelming!

Yeah, like INSPIRE or fairyland. Sounds cooler that way too.

Annnnd.... sometimes I wish the singles had a little more oomph in them too like the good 'ol days. I'm glad they're starting to put a little bit of remixes here and there but I just wonder why avex suddenly stopped making jam-packed singles like in the early 2000s (M, SEASONS, AUDIENCE, vogue, kanariya, Dearest, Endless sorrow, etc.). Afterwards some started to become very anemic, about 4 tracks (originals and instrumentals) per CD sometimes. Kind of odd.

I didn't realize that many fans don't enjoy the remixes or think it's "a waste of time."

For a fan like me, Ayu was the artist who got me in into Trance, Eurobeat, etc. I adore most of her remixes. When Ayu used to do about 10 remixes on a single, I enjoyed them a lot! Not only was it worth the $20, but there were more tracks to enjoy then just a simple A and B side and instrumentals.

And yes people do put their hard work into the remixes, but that's their job! Producers wouldn't be in the business only if everything they did played in all the popular clubs. Artists like Ferry Corsten who have remixed for Ayu introduced me to his music and thus gained another fan. I'm sure I'm not the only Ayu fan to discover an artist over Ayu's remix albums. It's not pointless for Ayu to approach producers to do remixes for her. And hearing more versions of one song does not grow boring to me in the least bit. It's one of the things that are unique about Ayu, her remixes.

I really hope so! I would love all the r'n'rc remixes I can get!!!

Yes AyuTrance and the remixes were what really made me fall for Ayu back in the day! And big ups for liking Ferry Corsten!

I gotcha. Singles were more worth the money back then as you got what was basically the length of an album worth of songs. But I have to agree with hsienko, I'm more about the quality than the quantity and while Ayu's remix albums tend to be good, over half of the remixes on her older singles aren't worth my time. I just end up skipping over them and never listening to them. Plus, I'd rather not listen to different versions of the same song over and over again but that could also do with the fact that I'm not much of a remix person to begin with. I'd rather have a new song and a few good remixes of past singles/album tracks but I can understand how people would prefer the old format. ^^

I understand what you mean, and I do agree. For example, I only cared for a few remixes on the Daybreak single, the rest were pretty blah. Some singles/remix albums do have those remixes that someone wouldn't mind skipping. But, that's also all up to music tastes

The I would like it would be is for her to keep releasing singles the way they are now but instead she'd chronically release a remix album (pref. ayu-mix non stop megamix) for every album like in the olden days. The remixes on the remix albums were always really good, when I first got into ayu's music I used to spam play the Ayu mix series.

I completely agree! Especially about the older remixes.. some of them just seemed so unnecessary and bleh.

old format means A LOT of remixes. And everyone could find something good for self... When we have 2 remixes, it's hard to believe that everyone will enjoy them xP
