Crossroad 49th Single Speculation Thread I

Maybe they just pointed out the "consecutive singles" thing to make ppl more exited about them, even though it doesn't rly mean they will be released faster than usual?
I dunno. Still I think the singles will be released until the end of the year, which is indeed faster than usual.

She can still release the other two in the same month, though that could be risky ^^ I am sure both the singles will be out before the commemorative concerts start.

I'm not against speculation, it's what builds up anticipation and only natural within fan communities. It's when the line between what is official news and "rumors that everyone says is true so you assume it must have been said somewhere officially" blur that is annoying.

the definition of consecutive is not i per month or one per wee, etc. but simply that they will all be right after each other. . . . . . .but if someone keeps mentioning how its a three single project with one each month many people are bound to be confused like that. oh well~

anyway it will be announced at the right time i suppose

no...ONLY fans said things about them being released one month apart...nothing like that was ever said by ayu or avex

That's true. No official info whatever about release dates at all. The only thing from the site is this "50th シングルに向けて、3作連続リリース第1弾" which means, "Aiming for the 50th single, the first in a series of 3 consecutive releases!" promoting MOON (48th).

A couple of news articles from some news sources mentioned "rapid 3 month succession", but that was about it.

Seems as though Japanese fans were wondering too and they thought it would be 3 months in a row as well. But I guess September through December for the next two singles are open now.

I don't actually mind when these other 2 singles are coming out at all. We just had MOON / blossom and an awesome DVD live released! I'm still trying to digest everything xD

I think that was only first decision. And now Ayu don't have time to make two singles before october. Or maybe she want to release winter single in november or december... And 50th single anniverary concert became just super-final of the tour


I'm just thought... M/b was announced 20th may, on thuesday, 8 weeks before release. If avex announce 49th single tomorrow, release date might be 22th september

The thing about the 7-days-of-lives in Yoyogi is that they seem to be promoted as having the 48th/49th/50th singles in them. I think they'll need to at least release single #49 before October, and then single #50 will come a bit after... sort of like how MOON debuted in full at AT10's MC sessions?

It's all so confusing, haha.

Yeah that special 7-day live really confused me as well. Before she announced that, I was quite sure #49 would be a fall / winter single, and #50 wouldn't be out until 2011.

But now with the special live.. She'd better hurry up No special 50th single anniversary live without a 50th single

My issue is, if they weren't gonna be released like over the course of like 3 months then what the hell was the point of announcing this so called "singles" project because if they're not then its not really a singles project is just the next 3 singles that would have been released eventually anyways. They said 'consecutive singles project' well it would have been consecutive had they not announced any kind of special plan. I mean its not like they could just random number hop and declare that she has broken all records because they are labeling her next single #1,000,000 and declaring its her 1,000,000th single even though they haven't made #49-#999,999 yet. I mean if they're not gonna be released over the course of like 3 months or w/e then this whole thing seems really stupid and pointless and they should have just not announced anything but that she was having a new single named MOON/blossom and just pushed crossroads and single #50 out very soon afterwards.

It's probably just plain old marketing. Lumping the 48-50th singles together and calling it a project will get everyone hyped up and ensure sales for the 48th and 49th. Those 2 are the cruxes when it comes to whether she can break the record, not the 50th. 50th is THE big one, people will get that for collection's sake, 48 and 49 don't have that push. Which is probably why avex is making them ride on the 50th's wave with this project.

well~ u basically just stated why they can still call it consecutive as ayu singles are usually spread much more far apart. with them releasing this close together its still fine to call it consecutive. it does not have to have strict timing. like one per month. were still expecting three singles in a considerably short period of time for recent ayu standards. its really not as complicated as people make it.
