^ Agree, she's had so many No.1's that I'm quite confident she can make it to No.1 for crossroad & L too

She has never done anything to warrant the hate she gets, she doesn't say stupid or offensive things nor does she act like she is better than everyone else...but I guess that's just the nature of the beast.

Anyway, I'm seriously looking forward to these singles and here's to Ayu breaking the record!
I agree with this so much. People should really go direct their hate elsewhere to someone who deserves it, like some random brainless reality show celeb or something. Ayu's such a kind/sweet person and doesn't deserve people saying really vicious things about her no matter how much they may dislike her music (not even talking about japantoday here because those comments are tame compared to others).

Kuu may be a "minor" threat, but her recent single's sales numbers are not as high as Ayu had, and most likely Kuu might sell in the 30s or 40s; if Ayu can get around 70s again, then it should be a good stepping stone there...

The fact that people hate on Ayu or any actually talented/hard working pop star in any industry these days is usually a mix of people being trolls or the stupid belief that by knocking down someone else, they themselves or the things they like will be elevated by such poo-flinging. It's really quite obnoxious and useless.

More importantly, I have no doubt she'll secure a #1 spot for both crossroad and L. Whether these people want to admit it or not, she's an important figure in the pop industry -- you don't have to like her to see her influence or her prestige.
