Hmm.. That's probably a coincidence, since most of her songs actually aren't ballads

On Heart Station, for example, the only ballads are Flavor of Life and Prisoner of Love. She does have a lot (like, a LOT) of mid-tempo songs. But I like them!

Actually I liked a lot of her songs.
I liked First Love, Amai Wana ~Paint It, Black~, Automatic, B&C, SAKURA drops, just to name a few.

It probably is since I haven't finished listening to ULTRA BLUE and HEART STATION.

The only ballads that I can stand are either from hikki and from namie.

otherwise ballads can kiss my ass.

Totally agreed. Though I'd probably add Ayu to that list as well.

^and probly I'll add Ai-chan as well, except her recent ballads aren't that good.

To continue the chat. Hikki doesn't have lots of ballads in her album.
First Love --> First Love
Distance --> Eternally (and For You... if this one counts)
DEEP RIVER --> SAKURA, Deep River (?), Letters (?), FINAL DISTANCE
ULTRA BLUE --> Dareka, Be My Last
HEART STATION --> FOL -Ballad Version-

I think DEEP RIVER has more ballads compared to the others. But usually her ballads only take up 20% of her album spaces only (or even less, such as First Love).

I have always considered Give Me a Reason (First Love), Kairo (Ultra Blue) and Stay Gold (Heart Station) as hikki ballads.

Oh.. I can see Give Me A Reason as a ballad (not a typical one tho). But for Kairo and Stay Gold, I think they're in another league. They are like haunting songs to me.

Kairo is quite ballad-ish... borderline case! Confused. But Stay Gold really isn't a ballad in my opinion.

Sakura Drops and especially Deep River are also difficult cases, but Letters REALLY isn't a ballad, where are your ears? (no offense, just joking of course)

But maybe I just have a really strict view on ballads I think in the end it all comes down to opinion. If you think Sakura Drops is a ballad, then it is!

(Again, I'm not attacking you guys just my opinion on what a "ballad" is)

I'm REALLY curious about arashi no megami. Anyone know what that means?

oh kairo. such an underestimated song. a bit boring though, but i love the lyrics. I remember in 10th grade, for a project of mine, I used the lyrics to it. haha. Whenever I see the word "kairo" I think of "karo corn syrup" lol
