^To me it sounds like she's saying that make up can give you a confidence boost, not that you have to wear it make yourself attractive. I wear make up all the time when I go out because I have body issues and it does make me feel a lot more comfortable and not as self-conscious, so I agree with what she's saying to a certain extent. Using make up/ clothes etc to feel more confident isn't a bad thing.
I do think that relying on it too heavily is not really a good thing though...
