Depriving myself in the name of a surprise

About a month ago, I was chatting with a few other AHSers about the possibility of holding out on further previews, PVs, etc., until Love songs came out, so that we could be surprised and have as much of the album as possible be new to us. So far, I've listened to the first three singles (crossroad, L, and MOON/blossom of course), I've seen the covers and tracklist, but that's about it.

Everyone's been saying how amazing Love song is, and now that the CM popped up in my subscription box and everyone is tweeting her about how awesome it was, the temptation is nearly killing me. Once the rest of the previews come around, it'll be unbearable... But I'm determined! Only a little while longer and it'll be worth it.

Is anyone else doing this sort of thing in order to keep the album a secret from themselves?

as far as myself's concerned , I wouldn't listen to the previews of the new tracks found in Love songs even though they're more or less are all out because previews doesn't do justice to the full song at the end of the day

but other than that , eh I already heard Love song & it's great & I also saw the 30 secs CM for the album just now too

I am. I've listened to the single tracks, and I've seen the covers, but that's it. Next year I'm considering not listening to the single tracks. It's going to kill me! But it'll be worth it So much more worth waiting for. I don't really like the japanese/asian way of releasing singles before full albums.

I am also holding out until I have Love Songs in hand before I listen to the rest of the album. Because I purchased Crossroad and L, and MOON/blossom was given to me as a birthday present, I have heard all of the songs and seen the PVs from these singles. I've also viewed the covers and tracklists and I watched the 30 sec CM this morning for the album (I was hesitant on watching the CM but after I did, I don't think it gave away enough to spoil anything. It just peaked my interest even more, which made me really happy). Other than that, I've practically stayed out of the threads discussing the songs and previews (and will continue to do so) as I don't want to go into the album with any biases or judging anything based on a small preview which really tells me nothing about the song in it's totality.

I do kind of wish though that I hadn't seen what the interior or contents of the limited edition version looked like. When they first announced it, I wanted to save that for when I first opened it as a surprise too. But in the end, that's okay because what they contain is the most important of all - the music and the PVs (which I won't be listening to or seeing until I use them)!

I'm always doing this! With every album/single/DVD...and believe me, it's totally worth it! Even when it's getting harder each time, I'm always determined to go through with it!

I have, and I'm actually doing it second time already, first one was RNC. When RNC was released, I've only heard Sunrise/Sunset.
I've only listened to Crossroad and Blossom. However, these two were the remixes, so I haven't heard the original versions at all.
Only "original mix" I have heard is SEVEN DAYS WAR.

I haven't seen any of the PV's, at least not fully [I have watched a bit of Sweet Seasons' but that's it.]
I have seen the covers and CM for the album [luckily for me, there wasn't almost any music in it] And I know the tracklist.

And that's all :3 I'm really excited about Love Songs!
It feels so amazing when the album is full of surprises~

I have listened to the previews once, but i don't even remember anyone, so the album is still a surprise. Since Love Song is in good quality i have listened

I did this with Secret, GUILTY, NEXT LEVEL, RnRC, and now Love songs It's the best way to appreciate an album imo, and there's definitely something special about listening to new songs for the first time on legitimate, physical CDs.

I've held out on the previews but since the CM didn't have any music I checked it out! Now I'm even more excited for the album...

Haven't viewed the covers, listened to any previews/clips. Didn't look at the tracklist but I pretty much know most of the titles due to people discussing them.

It's so hard! I'm soooo excited for this album because I feel like AHS was such a big part of it, what with all the fans meeting with ayu in LA and tweeting her and everything. I wish the album would be released tomorrow so I didn't have to wait so loooong...

Although:

- I listened to single tracks, Love song's rip, Thank U, insomnia and sending mail chaku-uta.
- I saw covers and limited edition inside pics.

Lol it's the best I can do unfortunately I'm too weak! I know ;_;.
But I leave the rest of the album, for the day I'll recieve my Love songs copy. I didn't listened to the album previews neither. And argh that's pretty hard. I cannot imagine how hard it is don't see and listen to anything as others do. Respect guys you're really stronger.
