And come on, it's FRENCH. A less common and more difficult language than English. Why aren't we complaining about "das das das duu it ugen"
lol well, at least she can use the r.

and no, we don't complain, we just make fun of "das das das". It's just that funny.

So I guess, we can just make fun of her french sounding like spanish.

Besides you cant say anything negative about ayu's singing on this forum because the stans attack you like theyre fighting against the end of the world or something.

but meh...you guys think her french is fine, then lol believe what you like.

Agreed. I honesty thought her french pronunciation was quite fine actually. I studied french in school YEARS ago and although I never mastered the language, I say Hikki did a good job.

I've yet to hear someone who actually speaks the language fluently bash her attempt at singing the lyrics.

Hikki is now the second most subscribed to Musician of Japanese youtube, once again ignoring beatboxers and Korean companies.

I think Ayu's english in Do It Again is so much better than Hikki's french attempt. You know it's not even her french I don't think, the song is just horrid. The flow is so awkward and just very strange. She could be fluent as a French native and it would still sound very weird.

Weird......it is. But not as weird as some zombie Engrish mantra that makes Koda Kumi sound like an Oxford scholar.

I understood what she said the first time. That's all I really care about. It means she enunciated enough for me to understand.

^ Really? Well I guess by comparison to her past english I think it improved. Honestly first listen I was like "Wow, Ayu has learned to control her English/accent much more now." I can understand how "dOns, dons, dons" could be seen as kinda bad but it could be worse and "do it again" sounds really good to me when she says it. I mean, I don't think it could be much better there. But anyway, this is the Hikki thread I know we'll get smashed for going off-topic. Lol.

EDIT: Wtf, why you edit your post. I didn't quote you!

^I think I had to be less harsh so I edited it....because I do love all the other parts of that particular song and the PV.

Anyway, Hikki's French was tacky.....but it really isn't so utterly horrid as it is being made to seem.

Let's break the conversation of hikki's French with something better .

Can't Wait 'Til Christmas is weekly no. 1 on digital downloads, and still daily no. 1 right now !
It's weekly no. 3 on chaku (last week no. 6), and daily no. 2.

I'm so happy. At least the Japanese still wanna download her song even tho they dun really buy her album .

Not like there's going to be much else to talk about.

If we hadn't said anything about her french, this thread would have two less pages.

She always gets a ton of downloads...I think she just, appeals more to the average masses...who, would rather just download lol

More likely because it's near x'mas. CWTC wasn't a hit when the album released. It was like at no. 50 or below for a few weeks (?) and all of the sudden everyone is in mood for x'mas song .

I've noticed that ever since WILD LIFE, a lot of artists are now streaming their performances on UStream. I think its nice that Hikki started this trend of giving your fans a live performance for free.

And that kinda proves that Utada is not in it for the money. Respect! <3

I agree. I will never pay for a concert unless I am there in person. Just like I'd never use itunes. I want my money's worth. I want to physically hold the cd/jewel case/booklet/obi. I don't want some AAC encoded file I could download on the internet in 2 seconds for free.
