The Korean celebrity is probably Bae Yong Joon, the guy who was in Winter Sonata and started the whole Hallyu craze. He's very popular in Japan, that's probably why they mentioned him.

I think it's petty and stupid that people are even talking about this. "Who donated the most?" is not what matters. What matters is getting help for the people who need it the most along the eastern coast and elsewhere in Japan. :-/

Why is everyone so quick to start arguing over stupid things now?
Part of me still wants to correct the TV station for their mistake, though.

It's a damn shame that these disgusting people are using this tragic event just to bash Ayu. At least she donated something whatever number it was, the people who run this show and network probably didn't donate anything at all.

Exactly. The amount that was donated should not matter, Ayu has been helping and guiding people through this since day one. They really should stop with the bashing.

To be honest you gotta say while any donation is good, 5 million yen is paltry for someone like Ayumi Hamasaki.

No offense to everyone...but didnt you guys see the Entourage episode, when Matt Damon and Lebron James wanted Vince to donate to the kids charity...and he only donated like $10k?

And they were like "aren't you making $20m this year? Come on man."

I don't think it's appropriate to bash people in public over the donating...and I wouldn't expect Ayu to just go around announcing her donations, so they really don't have a right to say anything about her, since no one really knows at all, and it's really really tacky to say anything about any donations really, large and small in public, omg.

But um in my honest opinion, if that's all she donated...like if it was already years later, and that was it...like they said on Entourage..."$10k? That's a little light."

But whatever. No one really has a right to say anything. That's completely a private thing.

I'm sure with the amount Ayu has been talking about this and how much she has expressed love for her country and for the world really, and has been tweeting non-stop...I'm sure she will do everything she can to help.

I think thats a bit different emiko because Ayu means well most of the time while Vince is a total prick, probably the most detestable character on that show besides E. Guy spends millions of dollars a year buying expensive toys for him and his buddies but can't even take a look at a brochure for a charity. It grinded my gears every time he used the bull$hit excuse for "I'm working on the new Darabont movie" whenever he tried to dodge the charity, couldn't help but side with crazy Matt on that one.

Matt's cellphone outburst at the very end of the episode was hilarious though, best moment in Entourage

What the hell is with everyone bashing Ayu? Why is it always her that gets so much stick from everyone? I don't blame her for not broadcasting it if/when she makes donations to anything, no matter what it wont be good enough for people anyway.

It's nice that ayu donated that much money, but I definitely see where the speculations come from that namie amuro donated a lot more than ayu even though ayu makes about 600mil yen more than namie annually. but any donation from anyone is very charitable.

i'm sure Ayu will donate more if she hasn't already. not to mention she's teamed up with ViVi to make a charity tshirt and is considering a charity concert.

Next time something like this happens and she decides to donate, she should inform that she donated, but without giving the exact digits. This could be if she donates anonymously.

I feel disgusted at how people think others are as "good" as the amount of money they donated. I haven't donated anything so you can imaging what that makes me.

And other thing, funny thing to see people making like the rich people is guilty because of the consequences of this catastrophe, is not like she or any other rich person planned this, as they make it seem like, ugh.

I don't really see how this is an issue.

Besides, I'm pretty sure in a recent TA message she said something like she will continue to donate everyday until she can't anymore.
