Sadly, I dunno if they ever record anything until the final tour dates.

Ayu has every concert she's ever done personally recorded onto DVD for her own scrutiny afterward though. (It's how we get a lot of "old" footage in DVDs)

I kinda like how everything is so shockingly different from the past. The title speaks for itself.

I'm intrigued to hear how her voice has changed.

But it feels kind of weird there are no costume changes, no MC, no nothing. She always interacts with the crowd so much usually...

Okay this concert sounds really awesome, and the idea is really inspiring. I support it and Ayu 100%.
BUT.
And this is just for me -personally-...

I wish that this concert could be a big over the top one. NOT BECAUSE I DON'T CARE ABOUT JAPAN OR WHATEVER. It's like, I wish the earthquake had never happened so we could still have HLS or something, because, although I've been an Ayu fan for about 6 years now, I haven't really gotten into her lives until more recently and I want to see her do more concerts like RnRC FINAL - stuff with that power and emotion. Had I been watching tours and lives like that all along like everyone else, then this would be refreshing and new and whatnot. But man, when she pulls out all the stops...

Either way, I love the idea that she's staying true to the name, letting the power of MUSIC, not power of PYROTECHNICS or the power of COSTUME CHANGES, get her message across. I agree that it does mean something and it's a very sweet, sentimental message.

I feel pretty similar. This tour does seem amazing, but I would have loved to have seen (well, hope to still see and hope the HOTEL Love Songs theme is still used) Ayu improve on RnRC Final, if that were possible! And I can't wait to still the Love Songs album songs performed in that style. We might get an epic CDL using the concepts from HOTEL Love Songs especially if props and costumes had been made. Ayu cares about the mood of the concert, but Avex is probably concerned about the money spent on the HOTEL Love Songs props if they don't get used so I am quite certain they will be used at some point, even if not for a while.

But I also very much support what she is doing now and the tour. I think if it had been planned like this from the start then it would have been even more well received as many people have been wishing for a stripped back concert. I am...is a beautiful cover and well liked despite having been changed at the last minute. (from the sounds of things, the concept was used later for the My Story album shoot, so not all ideas just get thrown away!) Hopefully this tour will be as well received overall as that

The original idea for I am... was a shoot going through the day of a girl but due to 9/11 Ayu didn't think it was appropriate so changed it to the peace theme. Can't remember where this came from but I remember reading it. Someone correct me if I am wrong! >.<

I don't think the original theme got told... I think...

But I always thought it was ayu-mi-x 4's theme that was supposed to be for I am... for some reason. I think so because they made this special "ayumi hamasaki" logo (like a watermark on the ayu-mi-x covers) and AT2002 was all in that theme later on...

Yeah, I knew that. I was referring to the part about the MY STORY covers being the original idea for the I am... covers. Like MissElin_ I'd always thought it was the ayu-mi-x covers.

This is way off topic anyway. Haha

Also, I NEED to go see this tour. This is why I love Ayu, her raw emotions and songs. I like the sparkle and theatrics, but they'd just be cheap tricks without her charisma and emotion. Like somebody said above (sorry, don't remember who), I don't cry at a ballad because of Shu-ya and Ayu's love, or because of Ayu's acting faces, I cry at the ones where she stands there and portrays these emotions with just her music.

I really like the concept with the whole tour just being about music. Although I love her extravagant costumes, it's still the music that counts and this time around it's really just the music and her voice.

I just hope she stays with this concept and won't change it in the middle of things.

I agree, the sudden pull out is the thing that surprised me though complaining would not change things a bit

And she need a costume change, at least 2 costume and 1 encore look like Hikki did in WILD LIFE. Even Ai Otsuka looked great in Ai am BEST Tour with that simple stage and stuffs because she changed costumes. One costume is not enough for me, although yes band members only had one for the entire show but still, the singer should change at least once imo
