I actually hope she would release this song in April for some reason, or May. It would be cool to see her release something a lot earlier than summer. I hate waiting when it comes to Ayu, especially now that she's working with Tetsuya Komuro again. <3

I do agree with Bigtop this time. AKB48 (and the members) are all dangerous things to oricon chart '__'a Although the vocal from the members really NOT GOOD, but it'll sell well, that's AKB48...

Thanks for crediting that out. Right now Ayu could only sell some 70,000 weekly in singles, but I'm seeing like some 150,000 or so for AKB48 sub-units/Tomomi Itano, and obviously like Arashi, over half a million for AKB48 itself. Even the NINKI rankings for them are (outrageously) very high. Now there's not only Johnny's to deal with but also with the AKB48 and the related groups (including SKE48), and also to a minor sense maybe YUI, Perfume, Tohoshinki or the new Koreans coming over to Japan this year.

Already she's 32, her peak is far long gone, and with those facts that I stated, while Ayu might have been getting number ones for the past few singles, the dates they picked are the ones that are less risky for her not to get #1 (though even Arashi announcing that they would release Dear Snow a week after Ayu, maybe respecting her for the record-breaker), and when comparing with today's heavier hitters such as AKB48 and Arashi, her #1 is more like #2 or #3 compared to their #1 if placed head-to-head.

Had that Ayu revolution of heavy commercialism did not occur back in the early 2000s (when Ayu reached her peak, such as 2002), Ayu would not be #1 at all times, and she would not be the same Ayu as what it is today.

"Making Fate" seeems like a nice title! hopefully tetsuya komuro does good. i wonder if this song will be released before the summer? or in the summer? july, august... hopefully we'll know sometime soon, lol.

Tales of Xillia's Real Theme Song Revealed & Game Quality is "Amazing"
Though there was an initial post that Tales of Xillia's opening song would be something called "Making Fate" by Ayumi Hamasaki, the artist previously denied that she knew anything about it. In today's Tales of Festival 2011, the real opening theme has finally been revealed. Not only that, fans from the event are saying that the game's quality is "amazing".

The game's opening theme is "progress". This info is from various Tweets of people in Japan who went to the ToF2011. All of their posts match up, so it's safe to assume the information is legit.

The confirmed release date is September 8, 2011 for the price of 8,379 Yen (around $103). Pre-orders for the game will begin on May 30. The game will supposedly have DLC costumes for the characters from the anime Star Driver. And also with special package, named Tales of Xillia X (Cross) Edition will consist of the special Tales of Xillia PS3 console with 160GB HD, the game itself, one Dualshock controller and the usual cords and cables. The package is priced at 37,980 Yen.

I would like to assume that ayu new single "progress" will be released between September 7th / 14th. And I Hope there'll special edition single collaboration with Tales of Xillia like with BoA did with Mamoritai White Wishes..

It's already end of May and we haven't get any announcement.
crossroad - L also announced in July, just few weeks after MOON.
So, I assume, for September release, we'll get annoucement in mid June / July.
After all, ayu already released bunch of bluray and CDL on July, I don't think avex marketing will be as crazy to release the single on August.

If ayu just released one single this year, I really hope the new album on December will have many new materials. But if ayu release the album on April 2012, then just say bye to my assumption. Ayu will release the winter single on December, or February like Rule/Sparkle, and we'll get few materials again

That doesn't mean they are going to do it right away. It's better to wait for the game to be released as Ayu will benefit from the game promo as well.
