Songs like ourselves and alterna were on singles and even though they were songs against the music business and her record company they were both on summer singles. Sure, she follows a formula but the content of that formula is whatever the hell she wants it to be. Kind of like when she had her dancers sing in sunrise and everyone here flipped their **** and it turned out to be a hit in Japan.

I agree, but it was quite obvious what songs were meant to promote the singles. I am not saying that she doesn't have the freedom or anything, just that fro time to time she does what the fans want. Remember how we got RED LINE ^^
